Developing an economy conciliating economical and social progress and environment
preservation, by considering it like a real heritage to pass on to future generations. This is
their definition of sustainable development.
In the early 80’s, Marcel Mézy, farmer in Bozouls, in
the department of Aveyron, worked on the
development of a method capable to rapidly
produce humus whatever the nature of the soil or
the climate is. To develop these techniques and
their implementation on the market, SOBAC
Company was created in 1992, marketing its
products under the brands BACTERIOSOL® and
BACTERIOLIT®.
This process, invented by Marcel Mézy, improves
the structure and fertility of the soil. Supported in
his approach by many farmers concerned about the
evolution of their profession, this man of the field
has always believed in the development of his
technology, providing real solution for the
sustainable development of agriculture in respect
with the environment.
This invention, real machine producing humus,
naturally replaces fertilizers and allows a
reduction or even an elimination of nitrogen
supply.

The products developed by SOBAC, BACTERIOSOL®
and BACTERIOLIT®, enable the development by
anticipating on the future, of agriculture in line with
the new obligations related to environmental
management and scarcity of resources such as
water.
The reliability and quality of work performed by
SOBAC have also been recognized in high places in
recent years, since in 2005, the company has been
selected as corporate pilot and participated in the
establishment of the Sustainable Development
standard in partnership with AFNOR and the RCCI
Midi-Pyrénées. In 2006, SOBAC has been rewarded
by the General Council of Aveyron which awarded
the company the prize of “Environment Enterprise”
along with the Sustainable Development Grant. The
jury of “Ecotrophées du Cadre de Vie” made up of
sustainable development professionals awarded
SOBAC the “Grand Trophée d’Or Ecoproduit” 2009
for BACTERIOSOL® and the “Trophée Coup de
Coeur du Jury” 2011 for BACTERIOLIT®.
