Scene 1: Introduction (slightly off centre stage)

Old Rapcat is sitting with his grandchildren on the stairs. (kittens of all different colours)
【Mr Chow’s signal】→【Sound 1 fade out】→【Yellow spotlight on the characters】
Kitten 1: Grandpa, tell us a story.
All Kittens: Yes, please, please!
【Setting】
Old Rapcat: Ok my little kitty cats.
Stage: Hospital (for Scene 2)
(rap chant) 【Rap sound on】
A tree (behind the hospital)
Once upon a time this land was split
Closed curtain
White cats, dogs and cats of mix
White cats thought they were the best
Under the stage: A stand mic
So cats of other colours they sent west.
(in front of the stairs)
Casting all the cats away,
Only the white they could stay!
With other white cats did not play,
Until someone saved the day! 【Rap sound off】

Old Rapcat: Well, until a little kitten was born one day

Scene 2: White Cat Hospital
【Setting】 Hospital (a tree behind it)
Father White Cat is pacing back and forth while his white cat children discuss their new
brother or sister.
【Open curtain】→【Sound 2 fade out】→【Side stagelight (2 pairs) on】→【White
spotlight on the characters】
WB: I think it’ll be a white boy who will be as strong as us.
WS: No! It’ll be a white girl as beautiful as us.
WF: I’ll be happy with a boy or a girl….oh it must come soon! 【Sound 3】
All : Here comes Doctor White! (Doctor enters looking very concerned.)
WF: Well? Is it a boy or a girl?
Doc: (walking around and the other cats follow him) It’s a girl…..but…..she is not white,
she is GREY! 【Sound 4】+【Side stagelight (1 pair) off】+【Orange spotlight on the
characters】
ALL: What? Grey! How can this be? This is terrible!
WF: Doctor! Doctor! Tell me! Tell me it’s not the truth!
Doc: Listen! She’s definitely grey!
WS1: Everyone will laugh at us! This grey cat has brought shame on our family.
【All lights off 】→【Sound 5 fade in】 *Curtain is still opened.
Scene 3: Catnip Primary School
【Setting】 Classroom (left)
Playground – 2 benches, a tree (right)
(Kitten Grey is walking behind her brother and sister on the way to school.)
【White spotlight starts from right (playground) and keeps following WB+WS+KG, then
stays by the left side (classroom) 】→【Sound 5 fade out】
WB : Kitten Grey you must walk far behind us. We can’t be seen with you.
WS : Yes, Grey. We can’t be seen with you. All our friends will laugh at us.
KG: OK… (Sadly walks behind and sooner she has fallen behind.) Wait…!
All White Cats: Arrggh! She’s grey! G-R-E-Y, grey!
White Cat Bully: She should not be in this school. It’s for white cats only!
All White cats: Yeah! White cats only!
WC Bully: Get out of here! (pushes Kitten Grey) You’re not our type!
(WB & WS talk together quietly )
WB: Should we help her?
WS: No! We’ll be laughed at!

Teacher enters as Kitten Grey is being bullied.
Teacher: What’s this?! Stop this cat fight! (As teacher breaks up the fight, she sees
Kitten Grey.)
Teacher: Oh! So you’re Kitten Grey! Everyone back to your seat, no more teasing. Kitten
Grey you should sit at the back of the classroom.
( All students sit down and Kitten Grey sadly sits at the very back away from the other
students feeling sad and alone.)
【Sound 6】(School bell rings, and all students leave the school. Kitten Grey’s mother is
waiting anxiously. )
【White spotlight on WM+KG】
WM: My little baby, how was your first day?
KG: Oh Mum, everyone hates me. Why am I so terrible? (walking to the stairs)
WM: You’re not terrible. You’re just a different colour. I think you’re beautiful and you’ve
got a big heart.
KG: But even my brothers and sisters hate me. They say I’m ugly and not good at
anything!
WM: They know you’re smarter than they are and different, but they’re afraid of their
friends. Deep down they do love you. Cheer up, baby! Let’s go to the playground!
KG: Ok Mum.
( As they walk, some of the school cats see KG from across the park. WB and WS are
there too. )
【White spotlight on the characters】
WC Bully: There’s that ugly and stupid grey cat!
All school cats: So ugly, so ugly!
WM: Just ignore them Grey.
KG: But even my brothers and sisters are with them!
WM: I know (sadly)…but they are not yelling like the others. Come on let’s go.
【White spotlight off】→【Sound 7 fade in】→【Close curtain】
Scene 4: Land of the other Cats
【Setting】 “Cat Carnival” sign, a tree, some flowers
【Blue spotlight on KG】 ( Kitten Grey carries away a backpack and leaves the town.
She walks sadly to the middle staircase, sits down and takes out her mirror.)
KG: I can’t be happy here. I’m too different. No one likes me. I can’t take
it anymore! I have to leave the White cat land.
【Open 1/2 curtain】→【Sound 7 fade out】→【Side stagelight (1 pair) on】
KG: (sniffles) Welcome to Land of Colours ( a sign )

Land of colours? A colour like mine. Ahh! What am I going to do? I’ve
nowhere to go, but I can’t stay in the land of the white cats. And I’m so
hungry. (KG starts crying).
Rapcat steps out from behind the sign. 【Rap sound on】→【All stagelights on】+
【Multi-coloured spotlight on (1/2 on the stage, 1/2 on the judge)】
Rapcat: Hey little kitty cat! Why are you so sad?
KG:
You’re black!
Rapcat: Yes. My name’s Rapcat and my fur’s black
And if you’re hungry, I have food in my sack!
KG:
Oh yes please! (Happily)
Rapcat: I heard what you said,
Don’t worry about a bed,
We’ll go to Other Cats Town
And you won’t be down.
Everyone’s different there
White or black they don’t care
I’ll look after you
So don’t be blue.
By the way!
The carnival’s on today
Let’s go and have a play!
KG: ( Hesitate ) Well…
Rapcat: Well well well, come on girl. Don’t be shy! Just come and try!
KG: Ummm, OK! Thank you Rapcat! Do you always rhyme?
Rapcat: Most of the time. That’s why I’m called Rapcat.
KG: Oh! Mine! 【Rap sound off】
( KG and Rapcat walk to the carnival on the left side of the stage. ) 【Sound 8 fade in】
Scene 5: The Carnival
【Setting】 “Cat Carnival” sign & board, a tree, some flowers
【Open curtain】→【White Spotlight on the characters】→【Window light (1 pair)】
( Rapcat takes KG to say hello to the carnival cats around.)
KG: Rapcat this is so wonderful. All the cats are of different colours and they don’t care!
Why are the white cats so mean to them? And to me!
Rapcat: They think they’re better because they’re white and rich, but it’s what’s in our
hearts that’s the most important. The cats here are poor, but happy.
( The carnival is full of excitement with plate in spinning and ribbon show.
【White Spotlight (turning)】 Four carnival cats walk to the audience and two carnival
cats stay on the stage. Everyone is laughing and having fun. The cats are of all different
colours. KG and Rapcat look around and enjoy the performances excitedly. ) * with soap
bubbles

Rapcat: Here are my friends! (Points at a group of cats walking up to them).
Rapcat: Everyone this is my new friend Kitten Grey. Grey, this is Catscan, Copycat and
Catnap…..he’s always sleeping!
Catnap: (yawns) Hey Kitten Grey!
Copycat: Hey Kitten Grey!
Catscan: Copycat, stop copying other cats!
Rapcat: Catscan is a good dancer. Show her Catscan.
【Sound 8a on】+【All lights off except white spotlight on KG+Catscan】
( Catscan dances )
KG: I wish I could be good at something like that. I am never good at anything.
Catscan: Why don’t you try? You’ll never know if you don’t try! Come on, I’ll show you.
【Window light (1 pair) on】( Everyone nods and cheers as Kitten Grey dances with
Catscan. ) 【Sound 8a off】
Catscan: Hey Kitten Grey, you are really good! You’ve got some fancy moves.
KG: Thanks Catscan. I didn’t think I was good at anything, but I can dance!
【White spotlight on the characters】
( Two nosy cats walking towards them holding a news note and a gong. )
Nosy Cat 1: Everyone, come here, come here! I’ve got news for you! The white cat land
will soon become ‘’Doggie Land’’. Hahaha. 【Sound 8b】
Nosy Cat 2: Let’s see how they are going to keep their fur ‘’white’’ when they have to
mop the floor and clean the windows for the dogs! Hehehehe.
KG: ( looking nervous ) Wait, excuse me, did you just say something about the white cat
land?
Nosy Cat 2: Oh, you cats don’t know about the cool news?! Let me tell you! The Snoop
Dog and his gangs have attacked the land of the white cats. They’ve taken it
over and made the white cats their slaves. 【Sound 8c】
All: ( gasping and whispering)
KG: Oh no! My family! Rapcat we must help my family!
Rapcat: I’ll help you little kitty cat. Hey! Who else will help us?
Catnap: Why should we help the white cats? They’re always mean and look down on us!
Copycat: They ‘re always mean and look down on us.
All: Yeh! (lots of nodding and agreeing)
KG: They’re not all bad. They just don’t know any better. If we help them, we can show
them our big hearts.
Rapcat: Kitten Grey’s right. If we don’t help them, then we’re as bad as they’re.
Catscan: I think Grey is right. I’ll help, too! ( walk and stand next to KG’s side)
Copycat: I think Grey is right. I’ll help, me three! ( walk and stand next to KG’s side)
Catnap: OK! ( walk and stand next to KG’s side)
( Nosy Cat 1 & Nosy Cat 2 walk to KG’s side although they aren’t willing to do so.)
Rapcat: OK Kitten Grey, lead the way! 【Window light off】+【White spotlight follows
the characters】
(All the cats cheer and they march off the stage to help the White Cats. )
【Sound 9 fade in】+【Close curtain】+【White spotlight off】

Scene 6: Land of the White cats
【Setting】 “Snoop Dog” board, a chair
(Snoop Dog is sitting on a throne with his gang of dogs.)【Open curtain】
(WCM+WB walk to the prison from the right side while Doctor White walks to the prison
from the left side.
(WS kneels near Snoop Dog and Teacher serves a drink to Snoop Dog. ) 【Sound 9
fade out】+【Central stagelight (1 pair) on】+【Yellow spotlight on the stage】
Snoop Dog: Bring me some food you silly white cat!
All dogs: hahahahaha! Arrroooooooo(dog howl) (Teacher walks to the prison)
Snoop Dog: You come here and do my nails! (he points to WS ) I want the latest flower
pattern! Make them glossy with glitters! Hey! I want to keep them black too! It’s so cool!
WS : Ok…I’ll see what I do!
( Snoop Dog looking and showing his fingers while talking.)
( Kitten Grey and the other cats run in. They are holding weapons.)
KG: Leave my sister alone!
WS: My baby, you’re alive! (KG & WB hug)
Snoop Dog: Shut up! You stupid white cat!
Dog 1: Who dares to challenge Snoop Dog?
All other cats: We do!
KG: Snoop Dog, leave this land and set the white cats free or you’ll have to fight ALL the
cats: white, black, brown AND grey! (All the cats cheer “yeah!”)
Snoop Dog: OK! Let’s have a dog fight boys! Time to dance! 【Sound 10】+【White
spotlight on the stage (shaking)】(All the dogs stand together)
( Dancing scene between the Snoop Dog and Kitten Grey. Kitten Grey starts doing
some fancy moves. Snoop Dog copies the fancy moves and splits his pants. )( Ripping
sound) 【Sound 11】+【White spotlight on the stage】
Dog 2: Hey boss, stop there, stop!
Snoop Dog: What ?
Dog 2: You show your bottom! I can see your underpants! It got ‘flowers’ on it!
Snoop Dog: ( Cover his pants and look embarrassed ) We’re out-danced boys. Let’s get
out of here. (They run off stage) Get Dr. Dog, fetch the needle and thread for me. Go…
I will be back!
All Cats: Hooray, we won! Hooray!
Rapcat: Hooray for Kitten Grey who’s saved the day!
All Cats: Hooray for Kitten Grey!
【Sound 12 fade in】+【Window light (1 pair) on】
( Kitten Grey’s family gathers around her.)
WB: Grey, we’re sorry for how we treated you.
WS: Yes, we were mean and horrible. Can you forgive us?
KG: Of course. You’re my family and I love you.

( All cats cheer and hug.)
KG: From now on, we’ll ALL live together in this land of cats. Colour makes no
difference anymore! ( Nosy Cat 2 goes and hangs the “All Cats” sign on the set. All
yelled Yeah and freeze.)

(Old Rapcat and Kitten 1 walk onto stage.)

Old Rapcat: So you see…
‘Kitten Grey’s big heart
mended the part.
Black, brown and white
Never again did fight.
Now together we stand
In the ‘ALL’ cats land.’
