The Florida Law Enforcement Officers' TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA 850-697-8314 7 1 and honor law enforcement officers who put their 2 lives on the line for the safety and protection of 3 Florida citizens and visitors through their works, 4 service, and exemplary accomplishments. 5 The first five members were inducted in 2016, 6 and plaques are displayed upstairs on the Plaza 7 Level for the honorees. 8 from the Florida Sheriffs' Association; the Florida 9 Police Chiefs' Association; the Police Benevolent Nominations were accepted 10 Association; the Fraternal Order of Police; and the 11 State Law Enforcement Chiefs' Association. 12 The 2017 nominees are Richard M. Barry; 13 William B. Berger; James T. Moore; Neil J. Perry; 14 and J. M. "Buddy" Phillips. 15 I would like to note that two of the nominees 16 are former FDLE members. 17 30 years of his law enforcement career at FDLE, 18 serving as Commissioner for 15 of those years. 19 Commissioner, he was at the helm when the 20 Department underwent some significant changes in 21 the 1990s that remain in place today, including 22 regional restructuring and allocation of resources 23 and developing our fundamental values of service, 24 integrity, respect and quality. 25 James "Tim" Moore spent As He continues to be a valuable confidant today. C & N REPORTERS TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA 850-697-8314 8 1 I have Commissioner Moore come back and speak to 2 every one of our incoming agent classes about the 3 FDLE way and the FDLE culture, and they always rate 4 that as one of the highest segments of that 5 training. 6 And J. M. "Buddy" Phillips served as FDLE's 7 director of mutual aid, providing valuable 8 assistance to the law enforcement community in 9 emergency situations.
