Ancient Greece dominates our learning within the Humanities, both

Science and
Technology
English
Combining with our history topic of
the Greeks, we begin the term
exploring the Myths and Legends of
the Ancient world. This is followed
by a brief revisit to Instructions,
before moving on to the art of
persuasion (beware, parents!).
Nonsense poetry brings the year to
a close, while Grammar work will
be permeating through every
element of the subject.
Maths
In maths we shall be continuing our pursuit of numerical
wisdom using our bible, the Maths No Problem texts.
Constant revisiting of all the calculations is essential, and
then we shall be branching out into decimals, percentages,
angles, polygons, position and movement etc etc
Starting with some
Chemistry, we are
studying materials in
greater depth, and
looking at some of
the processes that
alter them.
Following this,
Biology is the flavour
of the month as we
consider habitats
and how animals
evolve to exploit
them as successfully
as possible.
Religious Education
Physical
Development, Health
and Wellbeing
The many civilisations of the Earth dreamt up
many creation stories, and we shall be
studying these in RE.
Geography, History
and Social Understanding
Artistic Impression (art, dance, drama, music)
We will be using our topics, Making a Difference and
Going Green, to influence the art that we study this
term, as well as our study of physical features.
Ancient Greece dominates our learning within
the Humanities, both looking at its geography
and, more importantly, at its rich cultural
legacy.
In PE we will be
working towards the
individual athletics
award. Striking and
fielding will be the
key skills that we shall
explore also, using
the media of cricket
and rounders.
