In special cases the type of packing that is required will be stated in the order document. 1.1 Packing units All Stockmann goods shall be packed by orders. One order can contain several articles but articles shall be packed per one article / color / size (SKU -level). The total quantity in one plastic bag will be given in the order. Section 8 Rev. 2009-04-23 Page 2(15) I IFS Packing instructions 1.2 Material requirements Lindex only accepts packaging materials that are recyclable and environmental friendly. Plastic bags (polybags) Sorting units shall be packed in plastic bags. Boxes shall be avoided, should only be used when necessary to protect the contents. Plastic quality: • Plastic bags shall be made of polyethylene, low density (PE-LD). • All plastic material shall be marked according to DIN 6120, due to recycling. See symbol. Plastic thickness: • ASS: Not exceed 40 micron. • SSC: Not exceed 25 micron. • For hanging garments the plastic thickness should be 40 micron for all types of sorting units. PVC plastic is not allowed. Corrugated cardboard Export cartons shall be made of recyclable corrugated cardboard. The cartons shall be of a quality that ensures that the products are in good order and condition when they arrive at Stockmann. Staples, strings or bands are not allowed on export cartons. Please note: Baltic Countries need certificate of packing materials per order and invoice. Section 8 Rev. 2009-04-23 Page 3(15) I IFS Packing instructions 1.3 Packing requirements All goods should be packed in a proper way to avoid any damages during transportation. Packing in plastic bags • Size of plastic bag shall match the size of the sorting unit. • Seal plastic bags around the goods, leaving no empty space. • If goods need to be folded to fit Stockmann export cartons they have to be folded in a proper way to avoid unnecessary creases. Packing in export cartons • • • Avoid empty space in export cartons. Do not exceed the maximum size on export cartons. Size limitations are mentioned below. Only sorting units with same sorting unit number are allowed in the same export carton. Section 8 Rev. 2009-04-23 Page 4(15) I IFS Packing instructions 2 Packing in export cartons These are Stockmann’s general packing and folding instructions for clothing garments. Please follow these instructions when packing Stockmann’s orders. If more specific instructions (e.g. brand specific) are given please comply with them. • Items should be folded one by one according to these instructions. • Set each price label on top of the garment (not inside the folding) so that the barcode is visible. • Do not pack individual items into plastic bags or inner cartons unless specifically requested. • The plastic bag shall be folded in a way that prevents items from moving or unfolding, leaving no empty space within the plastic bag. Cartons must be fully packed. • Maximum weight of one carton is 15 kg. Section 8 Rev. 2009-04-23 Page 5(15) I IFS Packing instructions • Use as little packaging material as possible, but enough to prevent the goods from damages during transportation. Avoid using inner cartons. • Use recyclable materials in packaging, binding and labeling. Recommendable plastic materials are: Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Section 8 Rev. 2009-04-23 Page 6(15) I IFS Packing instructions 2.1 Packing Each order must be packed separately in accordance with Stockmann’s order. Items must be folded one by one according to Stockmann’s folding instructions. • 5-20 pieces of one size and color can be packed in one plastic bag. • Do not pack single items into plastic bags (unless specifically requested). • Incomplete bags and bags lacking price labels must be marked clearly. • Close plastic bags by folding, do not use glue or tape. • Place one big plastic bag inside the carton to cover the contents. MAXIMUM WEIGHT OF ONE CARTON 15 KG 2.2 Marking Please mark the following information on the short side of each carton: NAME AND ADDRESS OF CONSIGNEE Place packing list securely in an outside plastic envelope on carton No 1. Section 8 Rev. 2009-04-23 Page 7(15) I IFS Packing instructions 2.3 Packing list Packing list must be issued separately for each order and it must contain the following information: • Number of the packing list • Stockmann’s order reference (e.g. 123-123456) • Name and address of dispatcher • Name and address of consignee • Carton number / total number of cartons (e.g. 1/5, 2/5 3/5, etc.) • Contents specified by product, colour and size • Attach packing list in an outside plastic envelope on carton number 1 2.4 Folding instructions See instructions attached. The sorted items are put into a plastic bag (polybag), unless otherwise stated on order document. The plastic bag shall be folded carefully in a way that prevents items from moving or unfolding, leaving no empty space within the plastic bag. 3.1 Labelling of solid size and colour Use a white coloured paper label with black text and put inside the plastic bag, with text visible. For environmental and recycling reasons, do not use sticker labels. The label should be printed or stamped (water resistant) not hand written. The recommended carton size is adjusted to Stockmann’ DC processes and handling equipment. If the recommended size could not be used follow the maximum / minimum size of the export carton. Only sorting units with same sorting unit number are allowed in the same export carton. The same label layout should be used for all export cartons. The label should contain following information: • Company : Stockmann • Order number • Warehouse in destination: FIN / BA / RUS • Style number • Brand • Colour / size / pieces • Number of export cartons per order and warehouse. • Export carton sequence number / Total number of export cartons for this sorting unit number Example: Company Stockmann Order number 19-123-123456 Warehouse in destination FIN Brand Global Sport Style number 09-08- AADA Colour / size / pcs Wht / S / 20 Number of export cartons 20 per order and warehouse Export carton sequence number 5/20 per order number and warehouse Label placement Place the label on one of the short sides of the carton and leave some empty space around the label.
