I will once again be riding a spin bike that day to raise money and awareness for this worthy cause. The LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center is affiliated with the Lance Armstrong Foundation, and is one of a handful of such Centers nationwide. Last year’s Spin-a-Thon raised $6,500.00. With your help, I know we can exceed that number this year. Whenever I ride for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the Manifesto of the LAF is constantly running through my mind. It reads as folows: The Manifesto of the Lance Armstrong Foundation “We believe in life. Your life. We believe in living every minute of it with every ounce of your being. Attitude is everything. This is the Lance Armstrong Foundation. We kick in the moment you’re diagnosed. We help you accept the tears. Acknowledge the rage. We believe in your right to live without pain. We believe in information. Not pity. And in straight, open talk about cancer. With husbands, wives and partners. With kids, friends and neighbors. In teams, program participants will earn credits for minutes of physical activity completed, as well as bonus credits for activities that reduce an individual’s overall environmental impact. Program participants will learn helpful ways to reduce their carbon footprint while working out, and going through normal daily activities.
