Perform with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra
Young string players invited to join the professionals
The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra are coming to town and are
inviting over 100 young string players to join them including Gloucester
Academy of Music's Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Advanced Strings
groups.
Together they will rehearse and perform Fiddler’s Hill by Jeff Moore.
Jeff’s work brings string players together and is designed to be
performed by string players from beginner to professional. All GAM
Strings players of grade 1 standard and above will be invited so please keep your diaries free
for the 18th and 19th February 2016. The two day workshop will culminate in a performance at
Cheltenham Town Hall.
Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who
supported Shulah Oliver's cake stall in
aid of Guide Dogs. £34.00 was raised
from cake sales which brings the total
amount that Shulah has raised to
nearly £47000. Shulah’s target is £50 000 by the end of
the year! Well done Shulah!

from Birmingham Conservatoire. Annabel Knight will be visiting GAM and giving short performances to
our students. She is also hoping to start a Recorder group here in Gloucester. A nnabel has established
a successful performing and teaching career as a recorder player and historical flautist, which has
taken her across the UK, Europe and America. She has given recitals at the Wigmore Hall and South
Bank and many radio broadcasts and CD recordings notably with Passacaglia, and the recorder
quintet Fontanella. We are very excited to be welcoming her to Gloucester.
