Come along and explore the wonderful countryside of the Staffordshire Moorlands, Peak District, and the Derbyshire and Cheshire borders. 23 April, 2017 Yew'll Be Cross If You Miss This - 10am Start Join John Mills for an 8 mile medium walk across some of the lesser used paths on Ipstones Edge in the direction of Cauldon Lowe. Good boots and gaiters recommended. Please bring a drink and a packed lunch though it is hoped we can pay a visit to a local hostelry. Meet at Ipstones Memorial Hall (GR SK 019499) (Free CP). 21 May, 2017 Into The Deep - 10am Start Join Lionel, Kat and Aaron Parkinson at Deep Hayes Country Park by the Rangers Office (GR SJ 961 533). The walk is 8 miles with a possible extension if the route is firm. Good walking boots advised and bring a packed lunch. The route will take in Moorlands countryside, villages and waterscapes. 6 June, 2017 Who Was Hollins? - 6:30pm Start Meet Chris Mayer at Hollinsclough telephone box (GR SK 065 665) for a 4.5 mile walk over Hollinsclough Moor and Edge Top, dropping down to Washgate Bridge, before returning via Hollins Hill. Please bring good footwear and clothing plus snacks. 25 June, 2017 Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf? 10am Start Meet Austin Knott for our traditional Midsummer Meander starting at Hulme End car park (P&D) (GR SK 103 593) for a 12 mile walk around the hills and dales of the Rivers Manifold and Dove. This is a hard but rewarding walk exploring local geology. Good footwear, a packed lunch and sufficient to drink are essential. 4 July, 2017 Reservoir Ramble - 6:30pm Start Meet Lionel, Kat and Aaron Parkinson by the Lazy Trout pub (GR SJ 990 608) in Meerbrook village for a 4.5 mile circuit of the Tittesworth reservoir. Bring yourself, appropriate footwear, a snack and drink. Spring/Summer 2017 23 July, 2017 A Trigger Hampsy Way - 10am Start Meet Chris Mayer at St Luke's Church, Onecote, (GR SK 049 552) for a 9.5 mile walk taking in some of the lesser walked footpaths around Morridge before returning via the Hamps Way. Please bring good footwear and a packed lunch. 13 August, 2017 Anybody Seen Ann? - 10am Start Meet Mark and Jan Royall in Flash (GR SK 025 672) for a 9-10 mile exploration of the south west peak gritstone features, using access land to enjoy spectacular Moorland views. Please bring a packed lunch and good footwear 10 September, 2017 Don't Get Cross, Let's Get Cracking - 10am Start Join Richard for a 10 - 11 mile walk along the canal to Cheddleton taking in the Staffs Moorlands Way before returning to Leek. Stout boots & a packed lunch essential. Meet at Barnfields Car Park, off the A53 (GR: SJ 977 554). 19 September, 2017 Bagnall To Stanley – Greenways And Waterways - 11:30am Start Join Liz for a leisurely 5 mile walk from Bagnall via Greenway Bank Golf Course to the Cauldon Canal. We will leave the canal at Stanley to walk through the village and across open fields to our starting point. Meet outside the Church in Bagnall, ST9 9BH GR SJ 928 509.
