FALL MEETING EVENT OPPORTUNITIES
STUDENT/CAREER CENTER LOUNGE [$7,500]
The Student/Career Center Lounge is designed as a place for student attendees to go between sessions and as a hub for all of the
Fall Meeting recruitment resources. The lounge area is set up to include areas to relax, private interview areas, tabletop exhibits of
potential employers, an area for career-related talks, and more.

AGU/AGI CAREER OPPORTUNITIES NETWORKING LUNCH [$3,000]
The Career Opportunities Networking Lunch is designed to give student and early career scientists the chance to practice their
networking skills, to learn about different career path and employment opportunities, and to allow employers to network
directly with students and early career scientists.
After a coaching session on networking, the students navigate the room, talking with various Earth and space science
professionals from different organizations. Each student is given a lunch card to collect signatures from at least four Earth
and space science professionals at the event in order to be eligible for the prize drawing at the end of the event.

STUDENT MIXER [$2,500]
The AGU Fall Meeting can be daunting for first-time
attendees, the majority of whom are students. The Student
Mixer is an event to facilitate networking and camaraderie
between student attendees.
Sponsorship of this event will give your company or
organization considerable exposure, recognition, and the
opportunity to network with some of the students attending
the annual meeting.

DIVERSITY RECEPTION [$2,500]
A reception to celebrate the diversity of students
and professionals from groups that are traditionally
underrepresented in the Earth and space sciences, and to
celebrate our collective accomplishments in promoting
diversity in the Earth and space sciences.
This one-hour cocktail session draws 125+ diverse
scientists from around the world.

NETWORKING RECEPTION FOR EARLY CAREER FEMALE SCIENTISTS
AND STUDENTS [$2,500]
Network with your peers at this event held especially for early career female scientists and students. Created in partnership with
the Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) and the Earth Science Women’s Network (ESWN), this reception will be hosted by
the executive director/CEO of AGU, the AGU president, and the AGU president-elect. Tickets are free.
This one-hour cocktail session draws 400+ female scientists from around the world and from all career levels.

HOW TO BECOME A CONGRESSIONAL SCIENCE OR MASS MEDIA
FELLOW LUNCHEON [$2,500]
Spend the summer as a journalist or spend a year on Capitol Hill! AGU gives you the opportunity to do either as a Mass Media
Fellow or Congressional Science Fellow. Learn more about AGU’s fellowship programs—and how to apply—at this complimentary
luncheon. Congressional Fellows will discuss their experiences and how they helped influence national science, energy, and
environmental policy. Mass Media Fellows will share stories about reporting for major television, newspaper, and radio news outlets.

AGU-NESTA GIFT WORKSHOP [$10,000]
The Geophysical Information For Teachers (GIFT) Workshop is an opportunity for K–12 science teachers to hear about the latest
geoscience research from the Earth and space scientists working in the field and making the discoveries. Approximately five
scientist and outreach teams present each year during the two-day workshop, where the presentations are videotaped and posted
to AGU’s YouTube channel and website for teachers to access all year long. The presentations’ classroom activities are available on
the AGU website as well.
Partner with AGU and NESTA to help sponsor the GIFT Workshop and show your company’s commitment to fostering the next
generation of Earth and space scientists.

AGU BLOGGERS FORUM [$2,500]
The Bloggers Forum is attended by scientist bloggers and
scientists interested in becoming bloggers. The forum presents
information about why scientists blog and should blog,
discusses current issues in science blogging, and offers an
interactive audience and panel discussion about experiences
blogging in science. At the 2014 Blogger Forum, one of the
discussions of interest focused on how blogging can help
scientists connect with a wider community while raising
awareness of their research and increasing their professional
visibility. This event is an open event, with attendees coming
in and out of the one-hour forum; expect attendance of 30–40
people actively participating in different discussion or sessions.

AGU SOCIAL MEDIA FORUM [$2,500]
The Social Media Forum is attended by scientists who use
social media and who are interested in using social media
more effectively to communicate science. The event was
first hosted in 2014 and was well received. This event is an
open event, with attendees coming in and out of the onehour forum; expect attendance of 30–40 people actively
participating in different discussion or sessions.

is mailed with the November 15 issue of
Eos. Additional copies of the supplement
are printed and given to attendees at
