From The President
Stand Up! Be Prepared!
In the aftermath of the Orlando shooting Mr. Gaby authored a piece stating we are at war with radical
Muslims which caused a bit of controversy. In response to the two who questioned the piece, I did a
little research and was amazed at what I found. I want to share with you the results of that research.
At the height of Nazi Germany during WW II, the Nazi party membership was a small fraction of the
entire population of Germany, 10%. At that time the total population of Germany was 80 million.
Please remember that number. Of that 80 million, about 37 million made up all the military forces
from 1939-45. Just 30 million were in Army (Wehrmacht & Heer). Many Germans did not favor the
war but were none-the-less compelled to participate.
In December of 2015 the world population of Muslims was estimated to be 1.6 billion. It was also
estimated that a small percentage of them were radical/extremist/jihadist/ terrorists. That percent
was estimated to be between 5 and 25%. If one takes the smallest of those figures, 5%; that means that
there were, in December, 80 million radical/extremist/jihadist/ terrorist Muslims in the world with
the mission of elimination of infidels which includes Americans, you and I. World War II had front
lines with military units, in uniform, engaging one another. Today we do not have front lines and the
enemy does not wear recognizable uniforms, at least in the U.S. Today’s engagements are quite
different: night clubs, government centers, military processing centers, marathons, World Trade
centers - places where large number of civilians gather and most are gun free zones.
Folks, I doubt it is going to get better. Our enemy is more than twice the size of who we faced in
Europe (less Italy) and in North Africa in WW II. Please let your governing officials know of your
opposition to gun control in any form. Please be prepared, not paranoid. Learn how to function in an
active shooter environment. Fortunately, our July and August Club programs will teach us how to do
just that.
Voting
2016 is a very important election year for gun owners. Please study the candidates to insure you vote
for one who is pro Second Amendment vs one who would choose to control your purchase or
ownership of firearms. If you are not sure where the candidate stands, I’ve found that you can always
look at the planks in the party platform for information on any issue. Smart candidates will not always
tell you where they stand on key issues. But the party they are associated with will give you a good
indication.
God Bless
Dick

Editorial by Ken Gaby
Friends, when I graduated high school in 1965, I never thought I would see America as it is today.
The moral fabric of our Country is being attacked, our liberties are being assaulted and eroded and
our God given rights are being infringed. The Founding Fathers were well aware of what would
happen if virtue and morality were not at the fore front of people’s lives, especially our elected
officials. Below are a few examples of their thoughts. America’s current path has proven them right
on every count.
From George Washington:
"While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and soldiers, we certainly ought not to
be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be
our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian."
"No compact among men ... can be pronounced everlasting and inviolable, and if I may so express
myself, that no wall of words, that no mound of parchment can be so formed as to stand against the
sweeping torrent of boundless ambition on the one side, aided by the sapping current of corrupted
morals on the other." —George Washington (1789)
"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined but they should have
sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who
might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government."
Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty
teeth and keystone under independence … From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day,
events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and
pistol are equally indispensable . . . the very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil
interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that is good. -George Washington
John Adams:
... We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled
by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of
our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and
religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. ... The only foundation of a
free Constitution, is pure Virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our People ... they may change
their Rulers, and the forms of Government, but they will not obtain a lasting Liberty. ... A Constitution
of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever."
"The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and
that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence. If
'Thou shalt not covet' and 'Thou shalt not steal' were not commandments of Heaven, they must be
made inviolable precepts in every society before it can be civilized or made free."

Thomas Jefferson:
“It behooves you, therefore, to think and act for yourself and your people. The great principles of right
and wrong are legible to every reader; to pursue them requires not the aid of many counselors. The
whole art of government consists in the art of being honest. Only aim to do your duty, and mankind
will give you credit where you fail."
"What country can preserve its liberties, if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their
people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms."
“The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to
protect themselves against tyranny in government.”
James Madison:
"The aim of every political constitution is, or ought to be, first to obtain for rulers men who possess
most wisdom to discern, and most virtue to pursue, the common good of the society; and in the next
place, to take the most effectual precautions for keeping them virtuous whilst they continue to hold
their public trust."
"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to
Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents... If Congress can
do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the
Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one, subject
to particular exceptions. ... The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal
government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous
and indefinite. ... There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual
and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations."
In closing, one of my thoughts is:
The moment you believe you’re entitled to anything other than opportunity, you’ve compromised the
founding principles of this country.

You know we lost of one of club members and past Board of Director Larry Springer. His wife, Marilyn, is
now trying to sell some of Larry’s reloading equipment. If you are interested in any of the items below you can
contact Marilyn or their son Larry Jr to make arrangements for pickup. Located just South of Academy on Hwy
95. Their phone number is 254-982-4924.
Larry and I were shooting together when he bought most of this equipment and I can attest that a lot of the dies
and extras are new and have never been used. The loaders have been cared for meticulously and like new.
The two loaders up for sale are two Dillon 650 and they are decked out. These come as is but are backed by
Dillon’s “No BS” lifetime warranty.
