Got Cosmetology
Junior Badge
Cosmetology is the science of makeup. It includes keeping your body clean, cleaning your
face, working with hair care and nail care products and makeup…things that can help you feel
good about yourself and can help you develop positive self-esteem. Having good self-esteem
helps girls to build courage, confidence and character. This Badge will teach you about
cosmetology and how to work with cosmetics and hygiene products . Get parent permission for
activities using makeup, and adult supervision would be great!

Create: Find some cosmetic recipes. Look them up on the computer and make it with
the help of an adult. Examples are bath salts, body mists, soaps or lotions. Be sure to find out
about allergies and how and why dyes and fragrances can cause an allergic reaction.

Science: Research cosmetics using the internet or resources from the library. What

History: Make a poster showing the kinds of cosmetics they had in different cultures in
the past. What kind of cosmetics did they have and how did they use them. How has it
changed? Share what you discovered with your troop.
