Kings’ Island has two 18 hole courses; the Lakeside Course opened in 1993 and the Mountainview Course opened in 2004. We will learn of its history and culture with stops at Reunification Palace (Ex-Presidential Palace) , the War Museum and the Jade Emperor Pagoda. We will also see Notre Dame Cathedral (built in 1877), the General Post Office and the Saigon Art Gallery. In the evening we will take a dinner cruise on the bustling Saigon River on board a luxury wooden cruise boat. Visiting the traditional floating market of Cai Be, we experience its excitement as we walk through orchards of mango, coconut and banana. Continuing on, we paddle in a sampan to the beautiful Binh Hoa Phuoc Island and sample more exotic fruit of the region before driving back to Saigon. Back and overnight in Saigon (B) After breakfast at the hotel, we venture about 75Km northwest of Saigon to Cu Chi, an area that played an important role in the wars. This amazing tunnel system was used by Vietnamese guerillas operating against the US military forces and was initially started in 1945 during the French colonial times. Before driving back to the hotel , we explore the underground tunnels at different levels, see some of the shelters and sample the typical guerrilla food. This free day is to cater for those needs and allow time to return to something you may have seen earlier and wish to revisit, or check out a particular interest the tour has not covered. It also allows more time for shopping and there are plenty of bargains to fill any space in the suitcase. At 5.30pm we will gather in the rooftop bar at Palace Saigon for pre dinner drinks before heading out to Ngon Restaurant at 6.30pm for our farewell dinner.
