The Deer Park track team
capped a fine season by gaining
much post season recognition.
The 880 yard relay team became
the first Deer Park team to

championship final before -being
edged by Uniondale for the state
title. Their time of 1:29.5 is the
2nd fastest time ever run by a
Suffolk school.
This same quartet also ran the
440 relay, at the L.I.A.C. Meet of
Champions at Hofstra Univer-
sity. This race ended in a photo
finish between Huntington and
Deer Park with the officials
giving Huntington the victory.
Both schools broke the existing
county record as they ran 43.4.
Seniors Ed Gomez, soph Rich
Cincotta , and coach Ed
Szymanski were all honored by
the Suffolk County Officials
Association . Gomez and Cincotta
became the 1st Deer Park trackmen to gain All-County honors.
