Background:
Jordans Music Club is currently in its 71st year, with concerts held in the Jubilee Hall, Seer Green. It
runs a programme of events over the late Spring/early Summer with professional artists.
Role Descriptions & Skills Required:
The members of the committee are getting older and a couple have retired, and so they are looking
to recruit new volunteers, particularly younger people.
Responsibilities to include:
 Taking minutes of Committee and AGMs
 Writing up minutes and circulating to Committee by email
 Keeping register of Trustees’ names and details up-to-date with Charities’
Commission during the year
 Assisting on the four concert days with voluntary general duties
Skills required:
 Previous secretarial/PA experience an advantage but not essential
 Highly organised with good attention to detail
 General computer skills, including competence in Microsoft Word
The successful volunteer will need to attend Committee Meetings, usually held in October, January
and April/May in Chalfont St Giles, and the AGM in February in the Village Hall, Jordans. An interest
in classical music is an advantage as all members of the Committee contribute to general discussions
about the Club’s music activities and where possible attend the concerts and help out in the
management of concert day itself on a voluntary basis.
