Reception Take Away Homework!
These homework tasks are in addition to weekly
home reading, high frequency word practise and
Weekend News tasks.
The Peri-ometer suggests the difficulty or challenge the
homework may offer. Each week you must choose your task from the menu ensuring
that at least one ‘EXTRA HOT’ task is completed over the half term!
Each of the homework tasks are worth the following rocket points:

Record a factsheet about yourself.
Please include a drawn picture of yourself
along with any details you want to share...
Create a tally chart which shows the
favourite fruits/vegetables of your family
and friends.
Maybe choose 10 in total for everyone to pick
their favourite from…
Draw a picture of all of the people that are
special to you and label each person.
Colour in people’s hair, eyes, clothes etc using
the right colours so we can tell who is who…
Practise writing your name 5 times.
Ask an adult to decide whether you should
record just your first name or your full
name. Remember to make sure the letters all
face the right way and are in the correct
order…

Make a brightly coloured poster to show what
you are ‘thankful’ for.
Write a letter to your buddy explaining what
you are most looking forward to this year.
Please note that ‘Thankfulness’ is our wholeschool Worship Theme for this half term.

to record it…
Draw a picture to represent your favourite
Bible story.
Go on an autumn woodland walk
You could ask an adult to help you with
this…
Make your own Stick Man
Use any resources you want to make him as
realistic as you can…
Collect objects such as twigs, pine cones,
acorns, conkers and leaves along the way…
Use some paint to make handprints of
everyone in your family. Can you order them
in size from smallest to biggest?
If you haven’t got paint you could draw
around everyone’s hands…
Record the numbers 0-20 in the correct
order starting at 0.
Remember to make sure the numbers are all
facing the right way …
Look out for words when out and about and
try to name the letters and the sounds they
make. Can you read them?
An adult can record how you did in your
homework book....
