In order to avoid damage, all articles are loaded by our trained men. Goods are likely to be damaged while in transit and/ or when unloaded at destination. This is due to manhandling during loading and unloading from the truck/rail wagon. Therefore, we request you to instruct the stakeholder to ensure that the unloading is done carefully. • RECOMMENDATIONS..............................................................................................1 • INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATING GODREJ LOCKS................................................2-3 • COMBINATION LOCK (DELTA LOCK).......................................................................4-5 • COMBINATION LOCK (LA GARD MECHANICAL)....................................................6-10 • BIOMETRIC LOCK (SECURAM)...............................................................................11 UNPACKING AND LEVELLING • WARRANTY CARD...................................................................................................13 The safe should be unpacked only after it is taken to the site for smooth operation of the door. Before using the safe, make sure that the surface is levelled. To do the same, you need to stuff paper packing wherever required. As we take all the necessary precautions to keep the product safe while dispatching, we do not accept any liability for damage inflicted in transit. KEYS (Packed inside the safe. To open the safe, turn the bolt handle) DON'T keep the Duplicate Key in the safe itself. Keep it in a sealed cover or keep it somewhere else in a safe place. Note down the number of the key as reference; it will be required to issue a duplicate key incase the original is misplaced/lost. DON'T keep both the keys of the safe in the same bunch. In this way, you will always have one key as a backup in case you lose the original. The safe can thus be operated in joint custody, enabling one to operate the safe in absence of the owner. DON'T expose the safe to rain water while in transit. Cover it up with tarpaulin or water proof paper. Safes need special protection as their fire resisting capability is likely to be affected by water. Safes in basements or on ground floors must be placed on stands to keep them safe from water. DON'T paste paper labels on the safe as the sticker glue of the label contain water. Paint letters instead, or preferably use our label holder (or engraved) name plate. Then align it with 50 on the opening index. Turn RIGHT until the dial stops. The combination lock bolt will retract and the safe can be opened. To open Lock with a previously-set combination, for example, 10-2030: Changing Index. Turn the Change Key to the RIGHT until it stops (approximately one-quarter turn). Leave the key in the lock. Select a new combination, such as 40-50-60. Never select a number from 0 to 20 (the forbidden zone) as the last number of the combination. Using the CHANGING INDEX this time, turn the dial to the LEFT and pass 40 three times and stop exactly on 40 the fourth time on changing index. Turn the dial to the RIGHT and pass 50 two times and stop exactly on 50 the third time on changing index. Turn the dial LEFT and pass 60 once and stop exactly on 60 the second time on changing index. Leave the dial on 60. Now turn the Change Key to LEFT until it stops and REMOVE the key. Completely dial the new combination, 40-50-60, on the OPENING Index, several times to make sure the combination lock opens before you shut and lock the door off the safe. After changing, always dial the new combination and retract the combination lock bolt several times before shutting and locking the vault or safe door. Turn the dial to the LEFT at least four times completely to clear the combination lock to accept the combination. NOTE: Using the OPENING index, turn the dial LEFT and pass the first number of the combination, 10, three times and stop exactly on 10 the fourth time. • Turn dial to the RIGHT and pass 20 two times and stop exactly on 20 the third time. Turn the dial LEFT and pass 30 once and stop exactly on 30 the second time. Turn the dial to the RIGHT. When the lock is open, the dial will not turn to the right anymore. To lock the combination lock, turn the dial four times completely to the LEFT. CHANGING THE COMBINATION ON THE CHANGING INDEX To change the combination, you will need access to the existing combination and a change key. To change the combination, you must first open the safe door by dialing the combination, 10-20-30. With the bolt fully retracted (Lock open), before changing combinations, verify that the dial stops at '0' on the opening Index. OPERATION AND CHANGING INSTRUCTION (continued) Operating and changing instructions for Delta Make 3 Wheel Mechanical Combination Lock. Next dial the existing combination 10-20-30, as described previously, on the CHANGING INDEX, but STOP the dial on 30 which is the last number of the combination. In the back of the door, insert the Change Key into the key hole. If the Change Key does not go in, the wheels are not lined-up in order to be changed, and you must dial the combination again on the The lock bolt must move freely in the lock body. • Pressure against the lock bolt should be avoided. • While setting or operating of lock, the direction of rotation of Dial should be uniform. LA GARD MECHANICAL stops. (Figure 2.) Leave the change key in the lock while setting the new combination. 5. Next turn the dial to the LEFT (CCW) at least four complete rotations to clear the lock. The lock is now ready to accept the new combination. Group 1, Group 2 & Group 2M Locks CAUTION: Do not spin the dial to clear the lock.
