Sandra Meythaler Executive Director Ms. Meythaler was a Principle Ballerina with the National Ballet of Ecuador. She has performed ballet and contemporary dance around the world including Peru, Belgium, Germany, Italy, England, France, Spain, Brazil, Columbia and Japan. She began dancing professionally at the age of fifteen with Compania Nacional de Dance in Ecuador and then joined the National Ballet of Ecuador in 1989. She also danced with Ballet Novo, Opera Ecuador and Koral y Esmeralda. In 2001 Sandra became a part of Roanoke Ballet Theatre and was promoted to Director in 2007. Her multi talents are augmented by her world class teaching style which incorporates international dance styles in traditional ballet syllabus. Rolando Sarabia Ballet Master Rolando Sarabia began his ballet studies in Matanza, Cuba in 19969 at the Provincial School of Ballet. He then continued his training at the National Ballet School in La Havana where he graduated in 1977. He was a Soloist and Principle with the National Ballet of Cuba under the direction of Prim Ballerina Absolut Alicia Alonso. He has performed in over 50 countries on all continents and in companies such as Ballet Theatre Teresa Carreno in Venezuela, Cali Ballet in Colombia, Giona Campobello Company in Mexico, and renowned institutions such as Paris Opera, Bolshol and Kirov. After 35 years of dancing professionally he has become a Ballet Master of International Stature. In the spring of 2015, Rolando Sarabia became the Ballet Master of Roanoke Ballet Theatre. Level 1 - Monday 4:00-4:30 These classes are for those who would like to be ready for the Ages 5 - 6 Beg. Level 2 - Monday 4:30-5:30 upcoming auditions and fall classes. Ages 7 - 8 Beg. Level 3 - Tuesday 4:00-5:00 August 7th – 18th Ages 9 & up Beg. Tap & Jazz Ages 7 & up Basic Tap Tuesday 4:00 - 5:00 Ages 9 & up Basic Jazz Tuesday 5:00 - 6:00 $50.00 per session Ballet Summer Intensives Our Ballet Summer Intensives are for dancers who are looking to excel upon, improve and strengthen their technique. It is a great way to broaden their dance training. Ages 11 and up - 3 weeks 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Ballet Technique, Pointe, Partnering, Stretch/Conditioning, Jazz, Variations/Choreography and more! Attire Session 1: June 19th – July 7th ALL CYB levels are strongly advised to take one or both Tap/ Jazz shoes required, tight fitting athletic clothes or solid color leotard. Session 2: July 17th – August 4th summer intensives. Both intensive levels will take part in $600 per session/ $1,000 for both an in-studio showcase on the last day of each session. No Ballet / Tap Combo Classes Ages 7-10 – 2 weeks Ages 4 - 6 Beginning Monday 5:00 - 6:00 pm $50.00 per session fee is required for the performance. 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Ballet Technique, Stretch, Jazz, Choreography and more! Session 1: June 26th – July 7th Attire Session 2: July 24th – August 4th Girls - Leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun, and tap shoes.
