while the McKenzie and ‘Ekahi Houses are home to classrooms as well. Grassy
and rubberized playgrounds are located in the interior of the campus.
From town, KCS may be conveniently accessed via the Koko Head off ramp of

Founded by Kaimuki Christian Church, Kaimuki Christian School (KCS) is dedicated to communicating Christian values in an academic setting. KCS strives
to maintain its sense of ‘ohana across all grade levels and to reflect God’s love
for each of his unique children in a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment.
Our program provides students with a strong foundation for kindergarten.
A balance of work and play cultivates growth academically and socially.
Structured academic work periods are interwoven with recess or enrichment
activities. A daily rest period occurs in the afternoon. Morning devotions, Bible
lessons, and weekly chapels underscore our mission as a Christian school.
Excursions are also planned throughout the school year.

All skills introduced in the previous
year are strengthened, as children
develop their independence in
the classroom. In preparation for
kindergarten, math and reading
readiness skills are emphasized.
Students build upon letter recognition skills to learn phonics and writing through the Orton-Gillingham
method.
M IS SIO N
“To bring glory to God by nurturing all
children who can significantly benefit from
our program by educating them to attain
their God-intended potential.”

We are fortunate to have a professional, caring preschool staff, a school’s
greatest assest. Our loyal preschool staff has over 60 combined years of experience working with the youngest students in our ‘ohana.
Applications for preschool admissions are accepted on a first come, first
served basis.
Our preschool program offers classes for children ages 3 and 4. Our
classroom staff-student ratio is 1:10 for younger 3 year olds, 1:11 for older 3
year olds/younger 4 year olds, and 1:12 for older 4 year olds. Our preschool
program also includes specialists in music and computer education.
Parents may send in an application either prior to or following a school tour.
Once all application materials have been received, an interview will be scheduled. Because KCS evaluates each student individually, a decision regarding
acceptance will be communicated to parents immediately following the
interview.
