DIVISION 1
GENERAL
1.01 For the purpose of defining the open season the Province is divided
into Management Areas (M.A.'s) as established by Order-in-Council.
DIVISION 2
COUGAR, COYOTE and WOLF
2.01 The open season for the hunting of cougar, coyote and wolf is:
(a)Cougar - M.A.'s 1 through 28 inclusive - April 1 to March 31
(b)Coyote - M.A.'s 1 through 28 inclusive - April 1 to March 31
- M.A.'s 1 through 28 inclusive - April 1 to March 31
(c)Wolf
2.02 The maximum number which may be taken in any one season is:
(a)Cougar - no limit
(b)Coyote - no limit
- no limit
(c)Wolf
DIVISION 3
BEAR
3.01 The open season for the spring hunting of Black Bear and Grizzly
Bear is:
(a)Black Bear. In M.A.'s 1 to 28 inclusive - April 1 to June 15
except that in M.A. 23 there shall be no open
season on White Kermodei Bear.
(b)Grizzly Bear. In M.A.'s 2 to 23 and 25 to 28 - April 1 to
June 15.
3.02 The maximum number which may be taken in any one calendar year
throughout the province is:
(a)Black Bear - two (2)
(b)Grizzly Bear - one (1)
DIVISION 4
DEER
4.01 The open season for the hunting of Mule (Blacktail) Deer in M.A. 24
is April 1 to March 31.
4.02 The maximum number which may be taken in any one season in M.A. 24 is:

5.02 The maximum number which may be taken in any one season is:
(a)Raccoon, Skunk, Bobcat and Fox, no limit
(b)Wolverine - one (1)
DIVISION 6
HUNTING METHODS
6.01 No person shall hunt:
(a) Big Came with a rifle using:
(i)full metal jacketed non-expanding bullets,
(ii)tracer bullets,
(iii)rim-fire cartridge; or
(b) Moose, Elk, Caribou, Mountain Goat and Mountain Sheep with a
shotgun; or
(c) Deer with a shotgun less than 28 gauge; or
(d) Deer with a shotgun using sbotshells, except BUCKSHOT may be
used in M.A.'s 1, 2 and 3 and in those municipalities and areas
where the discharge of rifles or shotguns loaded with rifled
slugs is prohibited; or
(e) Black Bear or Grizzly Bear by the use of bait in M.A.'s 9, 10
and 11.
6.02 (a) The use of dogs is permitted in the hunting of game, except:
Mountain Sheep, Mountain Goat and the Deer family.
(b) Section 6.02 (a) does not apply to the use of a dog on leash
in the hunting of DEER in M.A. No. 1.
