Woof Walk 2014
is an opportunity for you and your walking
buddy to get some healthy exercise AND
help the homeless animals at Humane
Society of Catawba County.
A leisurely Sunday afternoon stroll
“with a twist”. Challenge stations and
water stops will make the walk much more
interesting for your four-legged friend.
The sponsor donations that you collect will
help homeless animals.
Sponsorship Goals
$100 in sponsor donations to receive a
6” X 6” photo tile placed in a specified
HSCC dog kennel area.
$250 in sponsor donations to receive an
8” X 8” memorial brick with 4-6 lines of
text to be placed along the walkway to a
dog play area at HSCC.
The challenge tokens your dog accumulates
could win prizes at the
finish.

Woof Walk 2014 will start & finish at
Geitner-Rotary Park, 2035 12th Street Drive
NW in Hickory, NC 28601.
Each walker (team) must check in upon arrival
and turn in all sponsor donations.

Check in time will be between 1:00-2:30 p.m.
Registration will be available on the day of the
event but will not be guaranteed an official event
tee shirt.
A copy of your dog’s rabies certificate should
be shown at check-in.
HSCC volunteers trained as dog walkers may walk
approved shelter dogs in Woof Walk 2014
Teams may start walking any time after check in.
The walking trail is paved. Walkers will turn
around at Hickory City Park.
There is no minimum distance requirement.
“Challenge” stations along the route will give
dogs opportunities to earn tokens by performing
basic obedience skills or easy tricks.

Tokens earned will be entries to win a variety of
prizes at the Woof Walk conclusion. The longer a
team walks the more token opportunities.

Water will be available at the challenge stations
for pets and their humans.

Woof Walk 2014 ends at 4:00 p.m.
All token entries must be turned in at the check -in
table.
Prize drawings will take place at
4:15 p.m.
Refreshments and other fun opportunities will be
available before and after Woof Walk 2014.
All donations go to HSCC and their continued
mission to help homeless animals.
