WHEN: The weeks of June 29 and July 6 on Monday and Wednesday, 1:00-3:00 pm. Jessica
Botterman, the writer will join us each Monday and Erica Golter, the illustrator will join us each
Wednesday. Our camp staff will extend the enrichment experience as children’s interest continues
beyond Jessica and Erica’s time with us. There is no additional cost to participate in this.
Children will design and develop their own comic strip! During this fun and enriching experience,
children will learn about the elements of plot and they will also decide which type of comic they
would like to create; whether it is to get a laugh or share a larger message. Finally, everyone will
create characters who will be brought to life with the cartoonist who will help children turn their
story into a five panel comic strip!

Jessica Botterman- Writer - Jessica received her BA in English Education from Plymouth State University. She went on to
receive her Master’s in Teaching Writing from Plymouth as well. Jessica spent a summer with the International Summer
School, NUIG, Galway, Ireland visiting primary and secondary schools and attending courses comparing the Irish educational
system to that of the American schools. She currently works with grades 6, 7 and 8 in the Sanborn Regional school district and
has been a teacher there for 7 years. She has a passion for volunteer work, coaching and theatre.
Erica Golter- Illustrator - Erica was trained for caricatures at Walt Disney World where she worked for nearly 5 years in 2002.
She now has 13 years of experience and has traveled all over the country making days and drawing people as cartoons. Her past
experience includes Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Boston Museum of Science, Christa McAuliffe Space Center, Toys
for Tots, Las Vegas Strip, and hundreds more!
