SUMMER READING CLUB
Kids, get your paws on a book!
This reading club is open to children who read and those who are read to. Keep track
of your reading minutes. Kids who read at least 600 minutes over the summer will earn
prizes along the way—and ice cream treats when they return to school in September!
Any day children come into The Library to record minutes they’ve read, they will
receive a prize—so plan to visit often!
Preschoolers through first graders read for the Paws; grades 2 and 3 for the
Claws: and grades 4 and up for the Scales. Watch the bulletin board in Youth
Services to see how your team is doing. Club members enjoy special activities and
programs (see below).
Splash Bash with Junior Jam
Have a doggone good time cooling off at Crystal Springs
Family Aquatic Center while you listen to award-winning
musicians for young children, Junior Jam. Free to all club
members with up to two accompanying adults! Others pay
regular admission to the Aquatic Center.

What should you look for in a digital camera? Is it similar to a film camera? How do
you use it? Bruce Tucker of the East Brunswick Adult School and member of the
Raritan Photographic Society shows kids
and teens how to take great digital photos.
You may bring your own photos to be
critiqued. Light refreshments will be served.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is a fun, strategic card game
for children in grades 1 and up. Please
bring your own cards and mats. All decks
will be checked for authenticity; no Japanese or fake cards allowed. Prizes will

read—no eating, listening to music, talking, or other distractions—until break times, every 45 minutes. Participants will
be eliminated as the day wears on. The Last Teen Sitting
might be you!
Prizes will be awarded at the end of each Read-A-Palooza—
for participation, too.
