for 12 seasons. Over that
time he developed the
shooting, specialising in
producing exceptional
sport of the highest
quality. Throughout this
process it became evident
to John that traditional
high quality English guns
could not cope with the
modern loads required to
do justice to these new ‘extreme’ birds. The breakdown rate
of English guns became increasingly frustrating, but
understandable as even modern English guns are still built on
designs over 100 years old. Hence the reason why John is so
delighted to be working with Andrew to introduce the
Holloway & Naughton Britannia, which is the only
exceptional English gun to combine traditional quality with
modern technical capability.

country for thirty years at
sporting, skeet and trap
and captained the English
and British Sporting and
Skeet teams. He has won
major world and British
Sporting and Skeet titles
on numerous occasions.
Andrew has pursued perfection relentlessly and identified
the unique opportunity of ressurecting one of England’s
most respected gun makers. The company is now
specialising in increasing numbers of over and under
shotguns, specifically for the demands of clients looking for
modern robust reliability combined with excellent handling
characteristics.
The Britannia is unique in that it is the only top grade English gun designed specifically for modern high bird
shooting. The gun has exceptional balance and finish and its strength comes from the incorporation of 4
extended lumps that link in to the bottom of the action with two bifurcated lumps engaging the locking-bolt
in the breach face. The precision engineering of the gun is built around the Holloway & Naughton sidelock
action and the guns are made by an exceptional team of recognised craftsmen who are time-served in
London’s finest gunmakers. The Britannia has been developed for high birds and has been tested to
extremes. It is available with the very finest steel barrels in lengths of up to 34”. The Holloway & Naughton
sidelock over and under action is completely unique and is designed to be robust yet has finely tuned
reliability evaluated in the field for 10 years. The engraving and finishing are unsurpassable. Each gun is
supplied with an individually hand made leather case and a distinctive set of tools. The development has
taken 20 years and we are proud to announce that perfection has arrived!
