KS1 SATs testing
The majority of our KS1 testing was carried out last week.
The papers are to be completed during May, so there will
be the opportunity to complete missed papers in the

Mrs Brown continuing in Class 2
We are really pleased to announce that Mrs Brown will be
teaching Woodland Class until the end of this academic
year.
Class 2 teacher in September
We are thrilled to announce that Mrs Sharon Hillier has been recruited as Class 2 teacher
and will be starting in September. We look forward to introducing her to all the children on
the Transition Day on Thursday 7th July. Mrs Hillier is a very experienced year 1 and 2 class
teacher and we are pleased she is coming to join our team!
Year 6 residential trip to Weymouth
Next Tuesday (17th May) our Year 6’s travel to Weymouth with Mrs Whitehouse-Sharpe, for
their 3 nights in Weymouth. The children will be Kayaking, Orienteering, Rock hopping,
Abseiling, Sailing and Rock Climbing. We hope all the children have a fantastic time!
Summer 2 Hot School Meal menus
The menus have gone home with the children last week. If you order meals through the
school office, please return them in good time, so that the office staff can get them ordered
before the deadline.
Bag2School Collection
Thank you to everyone who dropped off old clothing. The PTA received a cheque for
£84.00.
Nits are back again!
Please be aware that a number of children in school have had nits this week, so your child’s
hair will need checking! If your child has long hair, please ensure that it is tied back when
they come into school. Thank you for your help!
Shillingstone U9 Cricket Team
Our cricket team have now played 2 matches and only lost their most recent game by 1 run. Well
done to the boys Tom D, Bobbie, Aiden, Ben W, Eddie, William and Lucas G who are showing a
noticeable improvement every match. The team still need more players so if anyone is interested in
coming along to a practice session they are held on a Friday evening from 6pm-8pm at Shillingstone
Rec. There are two teams Under 9’s and Under 11’s covering boys and girls in Years 3 to 6.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs J. Whitehouse-Sharpe
