The Big Tax Index
This feature has a prominent position on the home screen and is then accessible in the footer once you navigate away. The Big Tax Index is a
convenient way to see more information about different taxes and how they are applied across a range of topics in our most popular titles.
1
Click on the letter that your topic of interest
begins with and scan the list of sub-topics.
2
Alternatively use the topic search to quickly filter the number
of sub-topics, narrowing down your selection as you type.
The Big Tax Index is only visible if you have tax products in
your subscription. To subscribe to any of our tax products,
contact your Account Manager or Customer Services on
0844 561 8166.

Search can be accessed from the home screen and stays accessible at the top of your screen as you navigate the site.
How Search appears away
from the Home screen
Clicking on the floppy disc
icon will allow you to view
your Saved Searches.
Home screen view of Search
As you start typing your search term, the
screen switches to a dynamic view of the
possible search results, narrowing down
the search results as your search term
becomes more specific.
In the example below the search term
“inheritance” generates more than
23,000 results but by being more specific
and typing in “inheritance tax liability”
the number of search results reduces
dramatically.

Narrowing your Search
You can scan your search results using the breadcrumb
to help you decide the most appropriate result or you
can further refine your search results using the filters
on the right hand side. Search results are filtered
for you by Content Type or by Product.
Clicking on the cross restores
the original results set or clicking on any
of the links takes to you directly to the search
results already displayed.
You can select a product and drill down within that
product. Products ordered by number of search hits
related to search term.
In this example, search results have been
filtered by Product, and again a narrower
set of results has been displayed.
Advance Search tip
You can search for exact phrases (in double quotes),
eg small business “Accounting legislation” as well as
NOT words (expressed with a hyphen). For example,
small business “Accounting legislation” -Enterprise.
Note: when using exact phrase search in quotation
marks, make sure your search phrase is spelt correctly
and/or is an EXACT match, eg “Accounting legislation”
as the Search will not return results for “Accounts
legislation” when using quotation marks.
