Thekwini TVET College invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the
following contract and part –time posts:
1. PROJECT COORDINATOR – NSF PROJECTS
Central Office - Ref: CO 01/04/2017
Three (3) Year Fixed Term Contract
Salary Notch: R262 272 p.a. plus benefits (SL8)
Requirements: Senior certificate and a recognised and relevant tertiary qualification
[M + 3] in Project Management Five (5) years relevant experience in Project Management
with 2 years’ supervisory experience At least 2 years’ experience working in education
sector Good understanding of NSF programmes and council systems Experience in the
implementation of NSF, SETA and government related allocations/grants and programmes
will be an added advantage Advanced computer literacy (MsWord, MsExcel, MsAccess,
MsProjects) Good organisation and administration skills Ability to design and implement
internal administration systems and controls to ensure sound programme development and
delivery Sound knowledge and understanding of financial management, i.e. policies on
financial management, budgeting and costing, income and expenditure Sound ability to
write business proposals and reports as well as above average project management and
presentation skills
Leadership and management skills; good communication and
interpersonal skills Valid and unendorsed Code EB Drivers’ Licence.
Key Result Areas: Manage the implementation of the National Skills Fund (NSF) and skills
development programme Overall coordination of the NSF related issues in the college
Create an enabling environment for the successful implementation of the NSF programme
Compile an NSF project management plan Manage and monitor the implementation of
NSF projects ensuring in keeping with the applicable timeframes Liaise with all
stakeholders in the NSF programme (internal and external) Develop linkages and good
working relations/partnerships with the NSF, Seta’s, DHET Head Office etc. Prepare and
submit proposals Adhere to compliance requirements by the Auditor General and internal
auditors with regards to NSF guidelines during all stages of the projects Prepare and
submit relevant reports on the NSF reporting template and systems Attend meetings as and

when required General duties normally associated with this post as assigned by the
Supervisor.
2. Part-Time Lecturing Posts (PL1) - Business Studies
Report 191 - Semester 2
Salary: N1- N3 Programmes R238.88 per hour
N4 - N6 Programmes R282.89 per hour
Requirements: A relevant M+3 qualification  Two years relevant work experience  Sound
subject knowledge and work-related applications Teaching qualification will be an added
advantage Customer care; leadership skills; assertiveness; good record keeping and
administrative skills; passion for learning and teaching; as well as good communication and
interpersonal skills.
Key Result Areas: Teaching and learning delivery Assess and evaluate student progress
Monitor student attendance register Creating classroom environment conducive to
teaching and learning Provide feedback to students regarding their performance and
progress.
