This popular game show, skillfully organized by the SWCC Library
and Learning Resources Center staff, tests the knowledge of
SWCC faculty, staff and students on subjects related to the Festival
theme. Enjoy theme-inspired refreshments.

Area piano students who have studied with Pavlina Dokovska and
Vladimir Valjarevic during the festival will perform.
This exhibit will feature original art works from regional artists that are
inspired by Shakespeare’s plays, his words, his life, or the time period in
which he lived.
“All the World’s a Stage”
A small standard flower show presented by Tazewell County Garden
Clubs. Arrangements are interpretive of Shakespeare’s play titles and/or
lines from plays. Horticulture will also be exhibited. Entries in the Design
categories need to reserve a space for their design.

SWCC students, faculty, staff and community will participate in a
Shakespeare Sonnet Slam. Participants may recite their favorite
sonnet or lines from a Shakespeare play. Brian Wright will MC this
fun event and the winner will be selected by audience applause.
Lebanon High School Speech and Drama students will also act out
sonnets in modern language.

of repertoire including The Friar’s Tale from
Romeo and Juliet, one of the greatest love
stories, based on Shakespeare’s play. Its
passionate choreography is by Malcolm
Burn, and was originally created for The
Royal New Zealand Ballet.

Always a highlight of the festival, the Knoxville Symphony, conducted
by James Fellenbaum, will perform works by Mendelssohn, Bernstein,
MacDowell, Verdi, Gounod and others. Guest soloist will be Susannah
Biller, soprano. The orchestra will also accompany the SWCC Community
Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Joseph Trivette.

Joey Bland - Outside The Improvised Shakespeare
Company, he has performed with ComedySportz,
the iO Theater, and The Second City. For two years,
Joey traveled the world with The Second City Touring
Company, and in 2009, he played the title role in The
Second City’s hit, original musical, Rod Blagojevich,
Superstar. Joey is a two-time Jeopardy champion.
Lori Gates-Addison founded the
Mountain Youth Drama group 20
years ago and continues to be
the director of the group as they
perform an original play each
year.
Gates-Addison’s hopes
were and continue to be to provide
a message of substance abuse
prevention through the use of
song, dance and original drama.

Russell County’s Mountain Youth Drama group and Lori Gates-Addison
to explore and demonstrate the techniques of improvisational theater.
This ensemble of internationally acclaimed musicians will perform
in three unique concerts to reflect the Festival theme.

Ancient Airs and Dances, choreographed by Stoner
Winslett, is an uplifting journey, set to Italian and
French lute songs orchestrated by Respighi. The
dance explores the true and essential emotions
