Year 6 Literacy homework - wasp

Year 6 Literacy homework
The aim of Y6 Class Literacy homework is to reinforce the spelling, grammar,
handwriting and punctuation taught during the week. The work is to be
completed in exercise books.
Each week pupils will be asked to write ten sentences (of between ten and
fifteen words each) incorporating specific words and/or sounds. Pupils will be
encouraged to challenge themselves to find the best words relating to a given
sound and to use more than one of the list words in each sentence. They may
choose words not on the list if they fit the correct criteria i.e. use the same
sound and spelling pattern.
The sentences will also have a given structure, linked to our creative writing
strategy. Pupils’ spelling ability will be tested and monitored via a focused
dictation test.
