On April 5th the Invention Convention was held at 150 Borough Drive Scarborough Civic Centre. At this Invention
Convention there were approximately 45 excellent inventions set up in various booths, parents, teachers and kids
filled the rotunda area of the civic center displaying and explaining their inventions to the public and also having the
chance to explore and look at other inventions. A lot of kids
and parents had a lot to say about the whole thing including
myself, I really enjoyed the experience of and the exposure
it gave me to actually show people and media what I came
up with, I feel as if it was a great way for young entrepreneurs to come out and see what it really takes and all the
aspects of starting your own business and being selfemployed. I really enjoyed the presentation the man made
about being a entrepreneur and I really thought it was cool
to be able to be in that position and actually feel like it was
important. In the end, All inventions were creative and out of
the ordinary and every one had something different to
share.

On April 11th, the Kindergartens had the opportunity to host and participate in the program entitled, Beyond the Farm Gate offered by Windreach Farm. The students learned all about the characteristics and needs of chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs. They also had the opportunity to hold
all three animals and ask lots of questions to Sara and her staff.
"She laid an egg. Only hens lay eggs." - Ashab N.

Unity in Our Community
Dear parents and guardians
Here at Terry Fox we accept all cultures, religions, and groups of people. As a way to
show our support, leadership students have worked with a designer to create t-shirts.
The t-shirts will be giving out a message that says "you are safe with me I stand beside
you." We have put different symbols that represent the diversity of our school community, cultures, and religions. We have chosen these ones specifically because they are
put out most in the world right now.
Order forms will be sent out in the next week and sample sizes are available in the office if you would like to try a size first.
Proceeds from the sale of these shirts will go to Me to We charity.
