Signing MOU with the Institut National du Cancer

National Cancer Center of Japan (President: Dr. Tomomitsu Hotta, Location: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, abbreviated
as NCC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institut National du Cancer in France
(abbreviated as INCa, Location: Boulogne Billancourt, France), or French National Cancer Institute.
Created by the Public Health Law of 9 August 2004, the INCa is a National Health and Science Agency
wholly dedicated to cancers. The INCa is responsible for coordinating the cancer control activities in
France and operates under the joint authority of the Ministers of Health and of Research.
The INCa and NCC intend by this MOU to promote high-quality research and strengthen the evidence base
that underpins cancer prevention and control, with a particular emphasis on innovative technologies and
their assessment through clinical research, and cancer registry.
It is the third MOU signed by the NCC with institutions overseas following the ones with two American
institutions. We look forward to future research cooperation and interactions beyond borders.
