Laura Quist and Kate Nietling are the County Soil Erosion Agents. Part 91 of P.A. 451, Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Act, has a specific waiver for projects that are within 500’ of a lake, river, or stream and fall under one of the items listed: will disturb less than 225 square feet will be completed within 24 hours A soil erosion and sedimentation control waiver will only be granted if the SESC agent deems the earth change will not contribute sediment to a body of water nor alter the flow to neighboring properties. If your project is found to have contributed to sediment off site or into a body of water, or exceed 225 square feet, this waiver is void and a permit is required. Site visits will take place as deemed necessary by soil erosion agents. Upon signing this letter and returning it to Missaukee Conservation District, you will be waived from obtaining a soil erosion permit for your project listed below.
