1.Story Reading – My colorful
pencils.
2.Activity – Making tortoise using
disposables.
3.Snack “o” Mania!
We read the book My colorful pencils by “Fatemeh Fazel”
aloud to the kids, the story was of a little girl, in the story she was
upset and sad because none of her family members were playing
with her, then an imaginary world was created where pencils walk
move and talk with the little girl, then she plays with the pencils
and draws and enjoys..
We also interacted with the kids by Teaching them the different
meanings of the same words i.e., synonyms for Example –
Frowns, Escape, Tickle, Astonish, Charming.
Materials used and
explaining kids on
how to use them.
• We painted disposable bowls with green colors.
• Face of tortoise and legs were made using green sheets.
• We made Eyes of the tortoise using black poster color.
• Decoration of tortoise’s shell was done by using glittery paints.
• To make the tortoise look alive we used a brown strings for helping it
move from one place to another.
Latter after when all kids enjoyed making the tortoise, we also
discussed amazing facts about Tortoise, which the kids enjoyed a
lot.
Towards the end,
though it was hard for
us to let those
beautiful and lovable
kids go, we distributed
snacks to them; they
all behaved nicely and
stood in queue, we
exchanged hugs and
greeted them a warm
good bye!
