Louisiana College Dual Enrollment 2015‐2016 Beginning in the fall 2015-2016 academic year, Louisiana College will offer courses for college credit for high school students who are either enrolled in homeschool programs or in the Rapides Parish School District. College courses may be taken at a Rapides Parish high school with an approved high school instructor or may be taken on the College campus or online through the College. Courses offered through the College are taught by professional LC faculty, many with Ph.Ds. This opportunity is especially helpful for homeschool and block schedule students who want to get a cost-effective “jump-start” on their college career at a faith-based institution that is relevant, rigorous and relational. Student Requirements 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Student must be enrolled in a Louisiana public, private or parochial school, or in a BESE‐Approved Home Study Program. Student must be on track for completing the required Louisiana Core 4 Curriculum. Student must be enrolled in a college course for which dual credit is attempted and recorded on both student’s secondary and postsecondary academic record. Student must have achieved 11th or 12th grade academic standing. (Limited enrollment for 10th graders requires high school principal recommendation) Student will be admitted and enrolled as a “Non‐Degree Seeking” student. Upon graduation from high school, if the student enrolls at Louisiana College, they will apply for admission as a regular student and must meet the university’s admission requirements. ACT Composite Score of 18 (or equivalent PLAN, ASPIRE, SAT, or COMPASS score) ACT English sub-score of 18 to enroll in English Comp I (EN 101) (or equivalent PLAN, ASPIRE, SAT, or COMPASS score) ACT mathematics sub-score of 19 to enroll in College Algebra (or equivalent PLAN, ASPIRE, SAT, or COMPASS score) GPA 2.75 – Senior Status GPA 3.00 – Junior/Sophomore Status Tuition and Fees 1. 2. 3. A discounted rate of $100.00 tuition per three-hour course will be charged for 2015-2016 and will be inclusive of all fees. Regular tuition for a three-credit hour course is $1320. The student is responsible for textbooks and course materials. Payment methods: a. Supplemental Course Academy (SCA) Participation – $100.00 tuition per course inclusive of all fees regardless of delivery method. Student is responsible for textbooks and course materials. The district will pay LC 100% of the stated course tuition if the student remains in courses through LC’s add/drop period for the fall 2015 semester and the spring 2016 semester. LC will invoice the District directly for all course tuition immediately following LC’s add/drop period for the fall 2015 semester and the spring 2016 semester. The District will submit to LC a roster of students immediately following LC’s add/drop period for the fall 2015 semester and the spring 2016 semester for the purpose of determining the District’s and/or student’s financial liability. b. NON-SCA Participation – $100.00 tuition per course inclusive of all fees regardless of delivery method. Student is responsible for tuition, textbooks, and course materials. Students will pay LC 100% of its stated course tuition if they remain in courses through LC’s add/drop period for the fall 2015 semester and the spring 2016 semester.
