Wish Upon a Backpack INSTRUCTIONS
1. PULL A TAG from participating sponsor.
2. CHOOSE to fill an individual foster teen’s Back-to-School Wish on the label
below OR make a generic Back-to-School donation of money, a gift card or
school supplies. (Refer to the Back-to-School Needs list on the next page)
3. DONATE

Drop off school supplies at participating location or any AFS office (see back)


Foster teens are often overlooked. At AFS we try to get gift cards and monetary
donations for teens so they are able to choose their own clothes & school
supplies. Monetary donations help pay for Senior expenses (senior pictures,
yearbook, class ring, graduation announcements, etc.)

BACK-to-SCHOOL NEEDS LIST
MONETARY DONATION: Funding for foster youth does NOT include any of the items
on this list. The only way foster youth receive the following items is from funding through
donations and grants.




GIFT CARDS: AFS collects gift cards to give directly to older foster youth (13+) so they
may choose their own school clothes and supplies. This small act gives older youth an
important sense of independence and control in their lives. We collect gift cards to any
retailer that sells school supplies and clothes (even cards with unused balances).
