September Thursday, September 1, 2016, 10:30 am Book Discussion: The Magnificent Ambersons by Booth Tarkington. Indianapolis native, Booth Tarkington won the Pulitzer for this book in 1919. The novel traces the growth of the United States through the declining fortunes of three generations of the aristocratic Amberson family in an upper-scale Indianapolis neighborhood. November Saturday, November 5, 2016, 2 pm Lost Arts: Tatting, Punch Rugs, Crocheting, Knitting and Quilting Kathlyn Sontag from Lake Station Historical Society will discuss lost arts and crafts from the 1900’s. She will bring artifacts with her and demonstrate a few techniques. Participants will be able to try their hands at hook rug making, too. Display November & December A 100 year-old quilt and with other artifacts from the Lake Station Historical Society will be on display. December Saturday, December 10, 2016, 2 pm Happy 200th Birthday, Indiana! Join us for a festive celebration of all things Indiana. We will play games like “Win, ‘Hoosier,’ Draw” and ask some Hoosier-themed trivia questions. Cake will be served.
