different from other animals:
• Vertebrates (have a spine)
• Have lungs and breathe air
• Ectothermic (Cold-blooded)
• Dry skin with scales or scutes
• Shed their skin
• Majority are oviparious (egg-laying)
There are four orders of living reptiles:
• Crocodilia (crocodiles, gharial, caimen and alligators)
• Sphenodontia (tuataras)
• Squamata (lizards, snakes and worm lizards)
• Testudines (turtles and tortoises)
