Assisi: the city of San Francisco, a city full of spirituality, art and a symbol of peace. Arrival day: arrival and accommodation in B & B/hotels in Pietralunga. Visit to the village. Return, dinner and overnight. •
Day 1: breakfast and departure for Perugia. In the morning guided tour of the city: Piazza IV Novembre, heart of the city, with its famous Fontana Maggiore (Major Fountain) symbol of Perugia. The Palazzo dei Priori (The Priors’ Palace) whose interior rooms are of great interest: the Sala dei Notari (the Notaries’ Hall) and the National Gallery with almost 3000 works including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, fabrics and jewellery that testify to seven centuries of history and culture with artists like Perugino, Pinturicchio. Corso Vannucci, which with its shops and historical spots is the center of social life in Perugia. The Rocca Paolina (the Pauline Rock), a real fortress which was erected by Pope Paul IIIrd after the sack of Rome. The Etruscan well, an amazing and perfectly intact hydraulic structure, 37 meters deep, built 300 years Before Christ. The Etruscan arch and the Etruscan walls. Afternoon free. Return, dinner and overnight. •
Day 2: breakfast and departure to Assisi. In the morning guided tour of the city: the Basilica of San Francesco, with frescoes of the most important art of the 13th century by masters such as Giotto, Cimabue and Simone Martini and the stunning crypt which houses the Saint's Tomb. The Basilica of Saint Clare preserving the crucifix that spoke to Saint Francis and the remains of Saint Clare of Assisi. The Town Square with its medieval buildings, the new church built on the site of Francis home where you can visit the room-­‐prison where Francis was locked up by his father. Afternoon free. Return, dinner and overnight. •
