Preamble: WHEREAS The Colorado College Student Government recognizes an
interest in representing the groups that make up the Heads of State via maintaining
two positions for Heads of State Representatives,
& WHEREAS those two Head of State Representatives are intended to represent
all Heads of State groups and to foster connection between that body and The
Colorado College Student Government Association,
& WHEREAS The Heads of State Representatives position also entails the more
general responsibility of serving as a conduit between the concerns of students and
the administrative services that can address them,
& WHEREAS a portion of this responsibility involves developing and
communicating an understanding of Colorado College’s administration to students
and student groups,
& WHEREAS the institutional knowledge needed to effectively understand
Colorado College’s administration is best acquired through a multi-year
commitment to acquire it and/or by the diffusion of knowledge across many
different Representatives,
& WHEREAS Heads of State groups have many interests served by Heads of State
Representatives accumulating administrative knowledge over many years,
& WHEREAS The preservation of institutional knowledge among the Heads of
State necessitates the creation of additional positions for Heads of State
Representatives particularly among upperclassman,
& WHEREAS the current voting formula for Heads of State Representatives of ½ a
vote for each Representative does not serve any substantive purpose and
undermines the effectiveness of those Representatives,
SECTION 1: Section 3.03 f. of the CCSGA Constitution shall be amended BY
