SUGGESTED SCHOOL SUPPLIES
2017- 2018
As a public school, La Mariposa provides all regularly needed school supplies. You can help us extend our
program and enhance the products students create in class with the following items. Classroom
management is organized differently as students move through the grades. The lists below reflect the
suggestions by grade levels. We thank you for all you do to support learning at La Mariposa School.

KINDERGARTEN
Suggested Supplies: Please do not label donated supplies – we share
** Zippered backpack (standard school size to fit homework folder and lunch box – no wheels please)

• Set of 8 or 10 (fat markers) - Crayola water base markers
• 12 glue sticks
• Antibacterial Hand Wipes
• Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
• 1 box of Kleenex
• 2 boxes Ziploc bags - Last names:
o A - H: gallon size (no zippers)
o I - R: quart size (no zippers)
o S - Z: snack size (no zippers)
• 1 pack of black dry erase markers (thick)
• 2 packs of black dry erase markers (thin)
• 1 pack of colored pencils
• Headphones (each child keeps their own)
• 1 box of 24 Crayola crayons
• 1 set of 8 or 10 (thin) Crayola Markers

FIRST GRADE

· 4 Dry erase markers (odor free)
· 4 large Avery glue sticks
· 3 - 4 Elmer’s small glue sticks
· Headphones for computer
· 1 single subject spiral notebook

· 1 composition book
SECOND GRADE

· Fiskars children's scissors
· 1 set broad tip Crayola markers

· 2 dozen pencils, no mechanical - Ticonderoga

· 2 Fine point permanent sharpies - black
· 1 box Ziploc brand Freezer bags – A-M gallon & N-Z sandwich

FOURTH GRADE
Suggested Supplies: Many of these items will be collected to share with the whole class.
• 2 boxes of 12 pencils
• 1 Ziploc pencil pouch OR 6X8 pencil box
• 2 box 8 – 12 colored pencils (sharpened)
• 2 or more boxes facial tissues
• 1 box of 8 basic color Crayola markers
• 2 Glue Sticks
• 1 black fine point marker (Sharpie)
• 1 folder with bottom pockets (homework)
• Pink pearl eraser
• 1 container of antibacterial wipes
• 1 box of 16-24 crayons – NO large boxes
• 4 Red pens or pencils for correcting work
• 1 - 2 highlighters (any color)
• 4ct Black or Blue Dry erase markers (for student whiteboards)
• 1 pair of child safe scissors
• 1 package pencil wedge cap erasers
• 1 hand held pencil sharpener with receptacle
• Small 1 x 2 inch post it notes
4th Grade Important Notes:
· Book for independent reading on the 1st day and every day thereafter

· 1 pair Stainless Steel Student pointed 5” scissors

· 2 pack of 3 X 5 ruled index cards
· Small paperback dictionary and thesaurus
