Por favor, RCSD LCAP Parent & Community Stakeholder Meeting The Redwood City School District is hosting three Parent/Community information/input meetings to discuss the the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) on: Feb 8 DELAC Meeting (in Spanish) at 7:00pm at the District Office Board Room Feb 8 Parents/Community Members 9:00am District Office Board Room (Spanish translation provided) Feb 9 Parents/Community Members 6:30pm Taft School MUB (Spanish translation provided) The LCAP is a critical part of the way the state of California funds school districts through the local control funding formula process (LCFF). School districts receive additional funds based on the number of Low Income, English Learner and Foster Youth students that are enrolled within the district. The state is allowing districts to work in partnership with the community to decide how best to use the funds. We need your help as parents, educators, employees, students and the community in the planning process to determine how to allocate our resources to meet our districts vision and goals. Please join and participate in one of our stakeholder meetings as we continue to develop and update our LCAP. If you are unable to attend, please take an online survey to capture your input that from Feb 1-Feb 23 at http://www.rcsd.k12.ca.us/site/default.aspx?PageID=5488 Questions? PageID=5488 HEALTHY CITIES TUTORING NEEDS YOU!! Hello Clifford Families, You may know that many Clifford children who need extra support in reading, writing, or math get that help from volunteer tutors: “regular” moms, dads, grandparents, and even high school students who meet their tutees here once a week for 45 minute sessions. These community heroes are part of the Healthy Cities tutoring program that matches volunteers with students needing extra academic support during the school day or after school. Clifford has 15 students on the waiting list who need a tutor. Would you consider becoming a Healthy Cities volunteer? You can visit the Healthy Cities website to learn more about being a tutor and complete an application. Or you can contact the Healthy Cities Volunteer Coordinator, Cris Adair, or call the Healthy Cities Tutoring office at 650-508-7327. By giving the gift of your time, you can make a real difference in a child’s success at school. And I will let you in on a secret: it will make a difference in your life, as well. Thank you, and best wishes! 3
