Graduation Petition Information Students who anticipate completing a degree must complete a Graduation Petition either by oneself or with a Counselor online. Step 1 To ensure you are eligible for a degree, check if the following items are in progress or have been completed: 60 degree units 12 units residency A “C” or better in English* and Math* competencies A “C” or better in all major courses A minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average *Continuous enrollment prior to Fall 2009 may have catalog rights to English 28 & Math 115 competencies. See a counselor for information. Step 2 Official transcripts from all schools attended must be on file in the Office of Admissions and Records except for LACCD campuses. Transcripts must be mailed directly from the institution to West Los Angeles College, Attn: Admissions and Records. Step 3 A Transcript Evaluation Petition must be filled out requesting transfer credit for courses taken outside of the LACCD, or if you are trying to substitute a course, or receive credit from test scores. Step 4 Check that you are following one of the General Education Plans: General Education, CSU GE*, or IGETC GE* *For CSU and IGETC GE’s, students should consult with a counselor. Check that you are following one of the Degree types: Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, AA-T*, or AS-T*. * For AA-T or AS-T degrees, students should consult with a counselor.
