DEAR
FRIENDS
As I sit here I am listening to a March
thunderstorm. It feels almost like spring which will
be with us before long. The Friends Board is
looking ahead to our spring book sale and our
annual meeting.
The Board met on Monday, March 6th and we
did a lot of administrative business. The President
appointed a nominating committee to develop a list
of board members for open positions and a slate of
officers for the May annual meeting. All Friends
members are invited to the annual meeting which
will be Monday, May 1st.
The Friends Board also appointed a liaison
between the Friends Board and the Foundation
Board, which is required in the Foundation bylaws.
Friends Board member Lynn Pike has graciously
agreed to fill that post. The Board also appointed a
bylaws review committee. The bylaws haven’t been
reviewed in several years, so some changes need
to be made to reflect how the organization does
business. The committee will report on
recommended changes at the April Board meeting
and bring the changes to a vote of the membership
at the annual meeting.
Nancy Schroeder, Friends Book Sale
Coordinator, reported that things are going
smoothly for the upcoming sale. She is training
Joan Van Norman to be a “co-coordinator,” and
Joan has made lots of the phone calls to schedule
book sale volunteers. Thank you so much Nancy
and Joan! We are looking forward to another great
book sale.
Melody Warnick, Board of Trustees Liaison,
reported that the deadline for Library Director
applications is March 31st. The search committee
plans to conduct interviews in late April and the
Board of Trustees hopes to make an offer at their
May meeting.
Whether spring for you means garden planning
or mapping out that special summer trip, remember
to do your research at the Library.
See you at the Library.
