Wedding Preparation
Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage! Your wedding day will be the most important, exciting and
romantic day of your life. It is the day you marry your best friend. It is the day you become a family.
To make sure I capture your day in all its beauty and splendour, at our first meeting we go over what you
would like for the photography of your wedding day. We will discuss and agree the package that best suits
your day. We have packages to suit all of your needs or we can tailor your package to add on certain
extras such as parent albums, frames, prints etc.
Pre-wedding we go to your venue to have a look round and see where you would like to have your
photographs taken. Even if we have been to a venue a hundred times before, your day is completely
unique to you as a couple, and you will have your own ideas as to where you like your photographs taken.
This also gives you a good feel of how the things will go on the day.
We give you a list of the photographs that are generally taken at a wedding, such as the bride and her
bridesmaids, the immediate family etc. You pick and choose which ones you would like and then add
any photographs that we might not know about, such as a group of friends or a special niece or nephew
you would like a photograph with, and then we take this on your day so that we can make sure that no
photograph important to you is missed.

Your Wedding Day
Depending on the package that you choose, we start in the morning either with the bride getting ready
or an hour before your ceremony at the venue. For me, getting ready is such a special part of the day.
A whirl of dresses, false eyelashes, Spanx, hair rollers, the perfect shade of lipstick, killer heels, mum
passing round sandwiches and dad not really knowing what to do with himself. Not to mention the bottles
of champagne with your best friends. It’s (usually) quieter with the groom, perhaps a quiet pint down at
the bar with his best man to settle those pre-wedding nerves. We can cover this aspect of the day so
you remember each and every moment before you say “I do”.
We take photographs during your ceremony and after the ceremony of your family and friends and
finally, photographs of you as a couple before you head off for your meal and evening dance. We help
to keep your wedding day relaxed and enjoyable, capturing both formal and candid ‘real’ photographs to
show the whole story of your day and all your special moments without taking you away from your guests
allowing you to enjoy your time with the people important to you.

Details
Every little part of your wedding day has been arranged for months before and we understand how
much time and effort has gone into this special day. This is why we photograph all the tiny touches which
make your wedding day special and unique to you. The jars of sweeties you spent every weekend for the
past 6 weeks making handmade labels for, your great grandmother’s necklace for your ‘something old’,
your beautiful shoes or the lace detail on your dress.
With so much going on all day, many moments can go unnoticed, especially by the bride and groom.
We want to capture them for you to give you the most comprehensive picture of your day: moments you
may have missed, moments you’ll want to remember. We can also offer a second photographer just
to capture the candid photographs of people enjoying the day for you while your main photographs are
being taken. The choice is yours.

I Do
Whether your ceremony is in a church, hotel, stately home or village hall...this is it! The big moment!
The magic of seeing a bride walk down the aisle is a breath-taking moment at any wedding and makes
me smile every time. I love seeing the look on a groom’s face as he sees her for the first time, usually
a mixture of pride, awe and willing himself not to cry. From walking down the aisle, exchanging of rings,
signing of the register and walking back up the aisle as a married couple, we make sure we don’t miss a
moment.
After the Wedding
A few weeks after your big day, your photographs will go onto my website for your guests to view and
purchase if they wish and you will receive a disk from your day for you to choose the images you would
like in your album and then we make up a proof for you to look at and change as you like until you are
happy with the final proof. We can make up your own wedding album, parent albums, prints and other
items for you to cherish forever

About Joanne
Joanne has worked as a full time professional wedding photographer for 10 years, and considers it a
privilege to spend her working days doing something so enjoyable! She understands the effort, passion
and creativity that goes into organising a wedding and this reflects in her photographs.
Joanne works throughout Aberdeen and the Shire or further afield, photographing weddings in vast
stately homes, quaint village churches, chic city hotels, parents’ back gardens and everywhere in between,
covering intimate weddings where you can count the guests on one hand to weddings with over 500
guests, every wedding being just as special.
No two weddings are alike except for one thing; the couple who have booked Joanne want unobtrusive,
natural coverage of their day. She captures all of the photographs you would generally expect on your
wedding day but also captures the fun and excitement of the day too with candid shots to cover the
whole day like a story which then follows into your album.
With her friendly approach, Joanne creates beautiful photographs to record the whole day, capturing
your friends and family along with the little details that you have taken so much time over such as the
brides shoes, jewellery, flowers, table settings and the venue to show the whole day as a story.
Ultimately, she enjoys wedding photography and likes to enjoy your day with you to make you and your
guests comfortable and at ease with the camera.
