ELF Update Just a few reminders about tablets

December 12, 2016
Dear Families,
I hope everyone is having a great week!! Can you believe that we only have 7 more school days
before winter break!?!?!?
We have a new friend in our room! Her name is Skylar and she joined our class on Friday. We
are excited to have her! 
We read the last story in our blue reading book last week called Honey Bees. This will be our
last story for this semester. We have A LOT going on this week and I don’t want us to be overwhelmed!
Please do not forget to send your child’s reading book back to school with them! I need to
collect them this week! Thank you!
In math we will review what we have learned so far this quarter and get ready for our end of
quarter assessments.
ELF Update
We have currently raised $200.73 in our class! 
This means that we have earned our PJ party and bringing a fluffy friend! This will happen on Monday,
December 19th. If we can earn one more compliment then we will also bring in board games that day. I
will keep you posted about bringing board games that day! 
Please make sure your child dresses appropriately for the weather.
We will
continue to go outside for recess during cold weather as long as the temperature is above freezing.
Dressing in layers is great because we can take off a jacket if we are too hot, but can’t add a jacket we
don’t have if we are too cold. 
SNACK CART—Please remember that there will not be snack cart until after winter break!
Please remember to send only ONE snack with your child for snack time. Thank you in advance!
Christmas Concert:
Don’t forget about our concert TONIGHT!!! Please report to our classroom at 6:50. Parents, be
sure to take your child’s belongings with them as we will dismiss from the gym.
Just a few reminders about tablets:
1. They MUST come back to school EVERY DAY.
2. They MUST be charged to 90% or greater EVERY DAY. We do not have a charging station in
our classroom. If your child does not have his/her tablet OR it is not charged they will not be able to
complete his/her work.
3. ALL students MUST have working headphones at school or they will not be able to
complete the assigned activities at school.
Christmas Wishes
Tis the season for people to ask, “So, what do you want for Christmas?”
Well, I will tell you that I scored 0 in gifts when taking the Love Language quiz. SO, please DO
NOT feel as though you need to get me anything at all! However, if you are the person who wants to
purchase a gift for your child’s teacher then I ask that you purchase something from our class wish list.
This helps us all because these are things I can use for our class.  Here are some things that we
currently could use:
-Coloring books (for inside recess)
-Washable Markers
-Skinny highlighters
-Small Glue Sticks (we use glue sticks
every day and we are OUT!)
-Washable Markers
-Gift Cards to Target, Wal-Mart, Dollar
Tree, etc. so that I can purchase items for our
classroom
-3prong 2-pocket Folders
-Extra Headphones
-Small pompoms
-Variety packs of colored cardstock
-Full page (thick) sheet protectors—220
total needed
-Dividers
-Trading card pages (9 pockets
standard)—88 total needed
-Small (skinny) BLACK dry-erase markers
-Carpet bags (plastic reusable shopping
bags from the dollar tree)
-Renuzit Raspberry Framboise air
freshners
-Lysol Spray (clean linen scent)
-Clorox Wipes
Purple Folders/Behavior Sheets
Please keep your child’s behavior sheet in the back pocket of his/her folder until we move them
to the keep at home pocket. We use these to track our behavior goals for the month. We can only color
in our “cupcakes” once a week and it is difficult to remember what “colors” we were on for the week.
Thank you so much for your help and cooperation with this!
Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter. Thank you SO much for all you do! I
GREATLY appreciate your continued help, encouragement, and support.
Have a great week!
Mrs. McKim
