Children’s Party FAQ What ages can you cater for?
We can cater for a minimum of 8 children and a maximum of 15 children ages 4 and above. When are parties available?
Parties are bookable • on weekends : 11am‐1pm or 3pm‐5pm • and weekdays: 4pm‐6pm. Parties last for approximately 2 hours – one hour for the activity, 30 minutes for food and 30 minutes for craft activity or party games (discussed at time of enquiry). What activity options are there?
Parties can be catered to suit a wide variety of requests. Some sample activites include: Monsters of the deep: pond‐dipping, hands‐and‐knees minibeast safari, birdwatching, puppet‐making, teddy bears picnic, a hilltop safari guided walk, craft or some potting shed activities (options may vary depending on season). How many accompanying adults do you require?
We require 1 responsible adult for every 5 children. What are the catering options?
A party buffet will be provided according to requirements. This traditionally consists of mini sandwich platters, packet of crisps, carton of juice, selection of mini‐traybakes or a piece of fruit. Can you provide a birthday cake?
We ask that you provide your own birthday cake. Can we decorate the room beforehand?
Yes. The education room will be decorated according to the chosen theme however you are welcome to add your own decorations for the event. Balloons, themed napkins & party bags can be provided on request. What are the birthday party themes?

As far as possible we will do our very best to cater for children with allergies or disabilities. For more information please contact the reserve directly via the booking enquiry form or by telephoning 01577 862 355 and asking for Jane Cleaver. How much do parties cost?
An individual quote will be provided at the time of enquiry as the cost of a party varies depending on activity selected, buffet options, whether party bags are included etc. As a rough guide; one hours activity such as the minibeast safari, plus catered buffet for each child of mini sandwiches, packet of crisps, cartoon of juice and tray bake or fruit, plus themed decorations, napkins and balloons would be priced around £9 per head. Party bags can be provided if required at the additional cost of between £2‐£3 pounds per bag. Do RSPB members get a discount?
RSPB members will receive a 10% discount off the total cost of the party. If you are not yet a member and would like to be please ask staff for more information at the time of enquiry. Add ons...

Why not top off your child’s birthday party by making them an RSPB Wildlife Explorers member as part of the party package? A years membership costs just £15, for which your child gets a membership pack, a magazine delivered direct to their door every 2 months and a fantastic free thank you gift‐ all of which they can take away on the day of the party. Can be provided if requested at a cost of £2 ‐ £3 per party bag, depending on your requirements. Are invitations provided?
Yes, the cost of invitations is included in the price. Invitations will be directly emailed to you to print off/email as you wish. Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes. We require half of the total amount at the time of booking, with the remainder amount to be paid on the day. The deposit is non‐refundable if cancelled less than a week in advance of the date of the party to cover costs incurred. If you cancel more than a week in advance we will refund the full deposit. Please inform us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or if you should need to change the details and we will do our best to accommodate your new arrangements.
