INTERNATIONAL EASTERCUP BERLIN-MOABIT 2017
For the fifth year in a row WhatYouNeedTeamwear Berlin will host, in cooperation with BC Lions Moabit 21, the International
Basketball Eastercup in Berlin-Moabit. Invited are teams from all over the globe.
Berlin-Moabit is in the center of Berlin and has great accessibility due to great infrastructure. The main
station and

facilities are all within a 10 minute walk. The International Eastercup 2017, taking place from April 13 to April 17 , will provide
lots of good stories, friendships, events and lot of Basketball. For 2017 we are planning a wheelchair event again, Prize money
only for the Wheelchair-Winner.
In 2016 we had 110 teams in 13 categories coming from 32 different nations! In 2017 we will have a team of more than 70 people
in the organization and our aim is to become Germany’s biggest tournament! Refs are flying in from all over Europe and can
apply at our website
Application deadline for 2PO-Refering is January 31. 2017, 3PO-Refering till 15.03.2017.
During the tournament in Berlin there will be lot of time to visit the City or join our guides City tour. The schedule will take into
account cases where coaches have to work with two teams- just let us know. There will be options to play friendly matches, but for
complete practices we ask you kindly to plan them before or after the tournament.
In 2017 there will be a discount for „early birds „again. Teams can come a few days before the tournament as well as stay longer.
The motto of the international Eastercup is „By Kids For Kids” and “No Chances For Racism”. Where while we have lots of kids
taking a valuable part in our organization.

We will have five opening games on April 13 starting at 18.30 at Court 1 (Alt Moabit 10, 10557 Berlin). The finals are planned as
follows:

Boys U22, Girls U22 -->Sunday 16 of April ca. 21.00 pm, Wheelchair/Ladies/Men/Mixed/3on3-->Saturday 15 of April ca. 16th
22 pm, all other youth teams-->Monday 17 of April 8 am-7 pm. (U10 Mixed at 8am, U11 Mixed at 9am, …)

PRICES, GAMES & FEE
The Local Organization Committee (LOC) guarantees every participating team at least 3 games in the group phase (provided
there are seven or more participants in that group there will also be playoffs and playdowns. If that is not the case there will be
classification games). Every winning team will get a trophy and medals, second and third team in the classification will get
medals. There will be MVP election in each Playoff-Finals. Winners of Play-Down-Finals will get a small price from
WhatYouNeedTeamwear-Shop and are invited to be part of the closing ceremony, right after the games of each Playoff-Final.
Every Playoff-Final will be recorded.
Entrance fees are divided in 2 shifts. (Paying terms are the same for Cupcards)

RULES & SCHEDULE
All teams pay a deposit of 100 €, that will be refunded after the Tournament when all went well. Some littleththings provided we
play with FIBA rules. All games have 4 times 8 minute quarters with stop-clock in the final two minutes (of 4 quarter).

The group stage has 4/5 teams per group. Placed 1 and 2 go to Playoffs, the others go to Playdowns.
Officials (refereetables) for timing and scoring will be announced through a schedule before the tournament. Every team will have
to do their duty at least twice in the first two days.
Teams that do not show up in time without offering a valid explanation and solution to the LOC, before the game, will pay 50 €.
Teams that don’t show up for their refereetable-job will pay 25 euros. All teams with Cupcard Highshool will also pay a deposit of
100€ to avoid troubles in their accommodation (Lose keys or e.g.). This way we want to guarantee a trouble-free tournament.

Ladies and Men → No age limit
Mixed -> no age limit, one female have always to be on court
Wheelchair, 3on3 → mixing is allowed, no age limit
Girls in U13, U15, U17, U19, U22
Boys play in U14, U15, U16, U18, U20 and U22
Mixteams are allowed in U10-U11-U12 and U14
Exceptions in age groups should be arranged through the LOC

Four nights in Moabit from 13 to 17 of April 2017, means 5 days stay in Berlin. Guests who want to arrive already on 12 April or
earlier /stay longer, are asked to notify the LOC -> earlier or longer stay is possible. Hearty meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner,

non-allergically (please inform LOC) and halal food, are offered on the following days and are part of the cupcards:

Accommodation for parents of the players can be organized cost-effectively via the office with Cupcard Touright in small rooms or
gyms, please ask for special treatment hotel or hostel reservations and prices. Rent a car during the time in Berlin can be booked
at the office more cost effective than at yourself, please inform us before if you are willing to do that. The same applies for arrivals
and departures to and from Berlin by car. If Alba Berlin Pro team from Beko BBL league will have a home game during

tournament days at the Mercedes Benz Arena tickets can be pre-ordered via our office. After the finals on April 17 , all
tournament participants can stay for Review-Chillout-Lounge with some specials.

With the Cupcard you get free admission to all games (including Finals and Show-Games), use of public transport by 13 to April

17 ABC Area of Berlin. There are some advantages in shops / restaurants in Moabit etc. Picking up the team from Tegel Airport
and main bus station (ZOB) is possible for a small fee. Specific info can be found on our website, you will find a special
registration for all shuttles during the tournament.

Our shuttleservice team is in service only on April 13 and 17th. It is also possible to arrive on Friday but please let us know.
We offer 2017 a new cupcard category with Touright. We also have new categories for players 3on3 and a mixed competition.
On Monday there will be a Review-Chillout-Lounge.
Important: Due to not offering WIFI, each Team should bring a WhatsApp-able Smartphone. Each team will get a prepaid
SIMCARD for the time of the tournament with a small Internet-Flatrate. We communicate news or changes in schedule over
WhatsApp. So do not forget to bring a smartphone. There will not be any WIFI in the Gyms. If you need WIFI there are WLAN
connections at McDonalds at Hauptbahnhof amongst others.
New in 2017, we offer a “Food Market” so there will be variability in the food we offer.

Teams which will play one of the five games on the Opening-Day, will be informed about the opening ceremony.

INSURANCE/LIABILITY
Participation is at your own risk: Neither the organizers nor persons authorized by the organizers nor other
participants can be held liable for damages, lost items or accidents. Organizers are not insured for accidents,
diseases, robbery or any other kind of damage. Each participating team must ensure that each player is insured
sufficient on and off the court. Please don’t leave your valuables unattended at any time of the tournament.
The Organization not the club won’t take any responsibility. Insurance is taken care of for participants from
within Germany. Teams and players from outside Germany should take their own measures. Everybody should
bring their own balls. Registrations of teams and refs is official, there will be no refunds after Registration
Deadline.
