List the materials, tools and equipment required to carry out the installation of a two-way
domestic lighting circuit.
Install two lights and two-way light switches to an agreed position and dress the consumer unit.
Carry out dead tests on the completed installation and record your results.
Describe the method adopted to carry out the installation.
Ensure your work area is left clean and tidy and all materials, tools and equipment are
accounted for.

Notes
Candidates are expected to install two lights and two-way light switches to an agreed position
and dress the consumer unit. Candidates must ensure that:

all components are fitted at the correct levels, as specified in the drawing
all conductors are neat and no copper is showing in terminations
all cables are dressed neatly and to the correct bend radii
the circuit is fully dead tested before ‘go live’, supervised by an instructor
the work area is left clean and tidy and all materials, tools and equipment are accounted for.

Task 2 – Installation and dead testing
Carry out the installation of a two-way domestic lighting circuit, ensuring you complete all the
points described below:

mark out and install two lights and two-way switches
neatly clip T&E cable in approved routes, using the correct bend radii
dress the consumer board correctly and neatly, install back boxes and check for level
ensure that all terminations are tight and no copper is showing
perform dead tests and record results (under supervision) before going live. Record the
