What is a Primary Source ANYWAY? (You are will need to use primary sources
for this project.)
Primary Sources are materials from, or directly related to, the past. In History,
primary sources are usually letters, records or other documents created during the
period that is being studied, such as diaries, legal notices or accounts. However,
primary sources can include photographs, jewelry and other items.

General Encyclopedia Encyclopedia Britannica Middle School Edition – this is an
electronic version of a general encyclopedia.
Good place for Primary Sources U.S. History in Context – This database has links to e-
books, newspaper and magazine articles and primary sources.
Subject Specific Encyclopedia Gale Virtual Reference Library – This is filled with lots of
reference E-books (like subject specific encyclopedias)
