The weekly Roar Reading Math *CIA - We have completed the 2nd quadrant & - as good readers—we found a line of thinking (what we think the author is trying to tell us). We have begun collecting evidence to support this line of thinking as we start reading the 3rd quadrant. *4th= Reading, writing, & comparing decimals. We’ve been working on using numMt Pilchuck Elem. berlines as well. This helps us to compare Volume 2, Issue 12 decimals, fractions & mixed numbers. Yikes—definitely a good place for IXL! April 24, 2013 Unit test Friday! *Next Tuesday is our MSP reading assessment...our class our already great thinkers so we are just practicing how to attack that thinking on a test by doing practice packets. Expect that they will be doing some of this at home as well! *5th = Creating & solving algebraic exSpecial Points of pressions—translating English to math. Interest: We’ve also gotten into more complex (2 BRING IN ITEMS step) function relationships & putting those FOR SAILOR CARE PACKAGE & on graphs. We are taking a quick jaunt into AUCTION BASunit 10 to look at patterns & then we take KETS—thanks!! the unit 8/10 test on Friday! Writing *Word Work: 4th week of MSP content words—test TOMORROW! *Grammar = Homonym, synonym & antonym packet (packet due May 1st) *4th = writing w/ Mrs. Nesham—working on essays, response to a prompt & EDITING (these kids are great writers!). They also did an all day write to practice stamina! Science *5th = Practice tests for the MSP & reviewing science concepts Project = Rube Goldberg blueprints should be done & materials being collected. Don’t forget about this fun device!
