LEADERSHIP PENNY WARS
Penny Wars is a competition between first period classes to see which room can raise the most money for the Media
Center. Our school goal is to raise $2000.00! The winning class will get a donut and treat party! If we reach our schoolwide goal, we will duct tape Mr. Bartlett to the cafeteria wall for lunch before spring break! Money can be donated in
the main office before or after school. Coins add to your class's total and cash subtracts from the total so put lots of cash
in the jars of other teachers. This contest starts February 29th and ends March 16th.
SPELLING BEE WINNER!
Congratulations to Marin Grey (6th grade) who won the Jo Lane Spelling Bee! She will represent Jo Lane at the County
Bee in the spring. Way to go Marin!
FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH IT WAS WORTH ALL THE WHILE
Order your yearbooks in the main office. $25.00 before Spring Break. Don’t be left out!
ANOTHER SHIRT ORDER IS COMING!
We are placing another order for Jo Lane shirts, and hoodies. Order forms and envelopes are due to Mr. Greenhow
today. If you have any questions about Jo Lane T-shirts or hoodies, see Mr. Greenhow.
GIVE THE GIFT OF MEMORIES!
Feeling generous? Know a student who hasn't bought a yearbook yet? How about sponsoring a student with a
yearbook? Buy one for a specific student or buy one for an anonymous student to be determined by the Jo lane staff.
Help in our effort to get a yearbook to every child. $25.00 in the main office.
BOOKS…
Please take care to keep your textbooks and library books in a safe place. The library has been having too many books
turned in by the teacher or the custodial staff because books have been left in the hallways or the classrooms.

ID CARDS - LIBRARY
Please make sure you have your ID card when checking out academic books in the Library.
BACKPACKS
Reminder: Backpacks are not to be taken into classrooms. They need to remain in student lockers or cubbies. This helps
to reduce clutter, tripping hazards and distractions in classrooms. Please take only necessary materials and books to
classes. Leave your backpacks in your locker.
STUDENT LUNCH REMINDERS
Students are NOT to be in the hallways during lunch, unless you have a pass. Restaurant food may brought in for YOUR
lunch; not for you and other students.
WEAR YOUR ID’S
Remember, it is important that all students get their ID’s from their first period teachers and wear them. Make sure you
have your ID badges on at lunch so that you do not get a lunch detention.
FOOD AND DRINK
A reminder that no food or drink items are to be taken out of the cafeteria after you eat your lunch. You need to stay in
the cafeteria until you have finished eating, including items you may purchase in the cafeteria.
BREEZEWAY DOORS:
As you go to and from lunch, be aware that classes are in session in many classrooms. Please keep voices quiet and show
respect to those classes. Do not open, kick or pound on any doors.
LEADERSHIP AFTER-SCHOOL SNACK SALE
Leadership will have an after-school snack sale every Friday in the main lobby. Proceeds go to school improvement
projects.
BOXTOPS
Please bring in your Box Tops for the monthly drawing! The container is in the media center and you can win awesome
Jo Lane gear. If you don't want to participate in the drawing, you can still bring in Box Tops and help raise money for our
school. The goal for Jo Lane this year is $1000.
TARDIES AND DANCES
With the start of the new quarter we are starting something new regarding tardies. If you have 10 or more tardies
between now and the next school dance, you will not be eligible to attend that dance. Excessive tardies can also affect
your eligibility to attend Fremont dances.
JO LANE CYNCH SACKS
Cynch sacks are for sale for only $7.00 and can be purchased in S17 or the office. All proceeds go towards the red ticket
prizes. These are great bags for your PE clothes or a gift for a friend. Come look at them in S17.
SMENCILS FOR SALE!
Smencils are being sold in S17/Mrs. Malpica and in the Media Center/Mrs. Ross. Smencils are gourmet scented pencils
made from recycled newspapers! They come in ten new scents and each recyclable “Freshness Tube” is topped with a
Character Cap. They are only $1.00 and the money will be used for red ticket drawings and “No Tardy” rewards. Get them
while they last!
